Cash Process Specialist – Patient Accounting

• Post manual and electronic payments, adjustments, and denials within 24 hours of receipt • Ensure all unidentified receipts are logged and cleared by the end of each month • Contact insurance companies, patients, employers, etc. to resolve payment issues • Document accounts in accordance with established Patient Accounting Department guidelines • Follow established billing/coding guidelines to flag accounts for follow-up as needed • Maintain a daily credit balance log • Handle all NSF dollars and documentation in accordance with established timeframes • Compile and validate all payment receipts • Ensure the accuracy of daily deposits by validating the dollar amount on the receipt • Participate in team meetings, communicate work related ideas and concerns proactively

Job Requirements

  • High School or GED required
  • Specialized, short-term training in business office processes preferred
  • Data entry experience
  • Typing speed of 60 words per minute
  • 6 months to 1 year experience in a computerized accounts receivable system preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively via telephone and in writing
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume workload
  • 10 key and computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must work closely with co-workers
