HubSpot

Role Description HubSpot’s partner ecosystem is one of the most important growth engines for our business. We’re hiring a Senior Counsel to partner with Ecosystem and Partner Programs teams to build legal frameworks that let partners scale with HubSpot — safely, predictably, and creatively. If you like shaping commercial programs, working with partners, negotiating complex technology deals, and solving the legal challenges that come with disruptive technology and HubSpot’s rapidly evolving ecosystem, this role is for you. - Partner closely with HubSpot’s ecosystem leadership and other cross-functional teams to provide first-line support to our Go-to-Market (GTM) business teams, focusing on Partner Programs, Partner Sales, Partner Marketing & Enablement. - Lead a range of partner program initiatives, maintaining and iterating on the program legal framework, negotiating technology transactions, advising on deal structure. - Work closely with our programs strategy, sales, marketing, and product leaders to meet partnership, programs, and company goals. - Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of complex commercial and technology agreements with sophisticated enterprise partners, including strategic partnership agreements, intellectual property licenses, and data privacy agreements. - Provide practical legal guidance around building and evolving a variety of partner programs and associated legal frameworks. - Assist in developing overall strategy for the GTM legal practice area. - Work with a strong team of legal professionals to help guide our rapidly growing ecosystem, channel, and GTM teams. - Develop guidance and resources for more consistent and scalable legal support. - Collaborate with other business and legal teams including Product, Privacy, Security, Compliance, Vendor Management, Commercial Transactions, Risk, Finance, Marketing, and others to align guidance and evaluate risks and opportunities. Qualifications - Qualified to practice law in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom. - 4-6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with an in-house technology company. - Experience working with partner, sales, and marketing teams and ability to provide practical legal guidance around building and evolving different partner programs and associated legal frameworks. - Experience with review and negotiation of technology contracts and feel comfortable running an independent negotiation process. - Familiarity with SaaS distribution, reseller, and partner programs, including issues such as price structures, order management, and general roles and responsibilities within the channel. - Working knowledge of global privacy and data protection laws and frameworks, with the ability to identify potential issues and provide practical, business-oriented guidance on privacy considerations. - Foundational understanding of intellectual property protection and management, especially as it relates to channel and partners, is a plus. - Able to handle a broad range of strategic matters and work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, transparent environment. - Able to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to a curious and empowered team. - Develop strong relationships based on trust with team members. - Effectively handle high-volume and prioritization of tasks and projects. - Ability to grow in an ambiguous, quickly changing environment and desire to learn quickly. - Clear and practical communicator with non-legal stakeholders. - Superior organizational skills and can project manage. - Fluency in English. - Passionate about the values in the HubSpot Culture Code. Benefits - Flexibility and connection, whether you’re a Remote employee or work from the Office. - In-person onboarding for Engineering team members at a regional HubSpot office. - Participation in in-person events for broader Product team members.
