Job Description
Product Manager, Platform & Monetization
Expel
As a Product Manager (Platform & Monetization) at Expel, you will lead our product management team in developing, launching, and refining systems that control how customers purchase, access, and use our services. This role stands out because you will build our Commercial Engine, turning our pricing strategy into an automated, smooth product experience. You will work closely with Finance, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure our pricing and product bundling approach improves revenue growth, customer adoption, and market competitiveness. You are the architect of our Commercial Engine. Your goal is to ensure that the value we build into the product is seamlessly translated into revenue. Unlike the traditional PM who focuses on what to build, or a Pricing Analyst who focuses on what to charge, you own the logic and partner with IT and Engineering on the systems and data that connect the two. You will turn our pricing strategy into a living, automated product experience that handles everything from a prospective quote, SKU activation and metering of any usage or consumption. Still reading? Great! This role isn’t for all PMs. Yes, all of the standard PM things apply – plan, prioritize, communicate, and implement a roadmap, form relationships, and become the authority in how customers use our product. In this role though, you’ll use your security experience to ensure Expel’s detection strategy is clear, current and comprehensive. If you get your energy from going heads down writing detections, this role’s not quite the right fit. But if setting the detection strategy from a broader perspective is your jam, you’ll thrive! What Expel can do for you - Provide opportunities to have a measurable impact on key business metrics right away. - Surround you with expert, friendly colleagues in key service delivery organizations all striving to scale operations tenfold. - Offer a great foundation to build upon, with significant progress already made but ample room for innovation. What you can do for Expel - Translate high-level business goals into functional pricing models (seat-based, consumption-based, or hybrid). - Perform continuous analysis to ensure our packaging aligns with customer value. - Define and manage the roadmap for our internal provisioning engine. - Collaborate with Engineering to build robust tracking for value metrics, ensuring accurate metering and reflection in both customer UI and billing systems. - Identify and resolve friction points in the activation process and remediate revenue leakage. - Serve as the "connective tissue" between Sales, Finance, and Engineering for alignment on execution and delivery. What you should bring with you - 2–4 years of professional experience, with ~2 years in product management or pricing analyst role. - Exposure to SaaS operations, including service provisioning, data optimization, and customer support. - Understanding of fundamental business metrics and ways to influence them. - Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and IT professionals about API-led activation and usage logs. - Strong familiarity with SQL and data models. - High proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and advanced financial modeling skills. - Experience with Business Systems Architecture (CPQ & Billing). Additional notes The base salary range for this role is between $114,300 USD and $165,700 USD + bonus eligibility and equity. We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You’ll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits We're only hiring those authorized to work in the United States. We do not currently sponsor immigration visas. We're an Equal Opportunity Employer: you’ll receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability. We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation. #LI-Remote Salary Range $114,300—$165,700 USD
