Role Summary We’re looking for an Application Solution Architect that’s interested in leading software evolution and innovation for multiple product teams. Actively explores, learns, and applies AI and modern technologies with an innovative mindset to improve systems, processes, and decision‑making in a constantly evolving technology landscape. The ideal candidate would be passionate about leadership and using modern engineering principles for building and delivering solutions to market. Primary responsibilities of this position include providing strategic thought leadership, driving technical research and innovation, and defining architectural designs, technical roadmaps, and operational plans. This role embraces the rapid evolution of Generative AI, Cloud, and emerging technologies. The Architect will coach and mentor teams while working closely with Enterprise Architects, Business Partners, Product Owners, and Engineers to identify opportunities, shape solutions, and deliver high‑value capabilities for ACI business and clients through Agile development practices. This role provides an exciting opportunity for a technical leader to support ACI digitization and transformation strategies utilizing Intelligent Automation tools, Low-No-Code (ServiceNow), including CMDB, and CMDB integrations and AI capabilities. This position's main responsibilities are to provide technical leadership, support architectural design, Integration services and automation solutions, lead building medium- to complex applications with integration capabilities and be part of the ACI enablement tech leaders and team to guide and help roll out the ACI AI, Intelligent automations, CMDB, and Citizen Developer program. This role reports to the Director, IT Software Engineering. This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, Missouri. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. How You Will Make an Impact - Provide leadership for application developers, including mentoring, technical problem coaching, skill development and general guidance. - Create concepts and designs for technical solutions that utilize innovative principles and adhere to enterprise architecture standards. - Participate in industry outreach and research to sharpen skills, including use of AI tools to improve developers productivity and identify new principles for ACI's most critical business functions. - Provide consultation to business partners on projects, opportunities, and problems. - Participate in the enterprise prioritization process to represent technical needs and gain consensus for new enhancements. - Participate in the Application Development leadership team. Actively influence strategic direction and architecture for the Application Development - Performs and supports system and integration design, development, and testing. - Knowledge configuring, experimenting with the new ServiceNow capabilities supporting our company’s digital and AI transformation. - Knowledge with ServiceNow CMDB, and CMDB integrations, as well as the ability to work across hybrid and cloud environments. - Knowledge of configuring and customizing the ServiceNow platform, including design that covers mid-to-complex process automations. - Fundamental knowledge of designing system integrations and process automations using ServiceNow as an orchestrator with other systems. - Supervise the health, performance, usage, and overall compliance of the application. What You Bring to the Team (Required) - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. - A minimum of 7 years of application/system architecture, design, development, and support experience - Proven Tech leadership and communications skills. - Knowledge and experience with Agile/Scrum practices. - Experience leading IT Transformational activities. - Broad knowledge and hands-on experience with software development tools and testing methodologies. - Experience with change and configuration management practices. - Knowledge and experience design and develop complex systems and business process automations. - Familiar with the ServiceNow Platform, CMDB, Integration Hub, low-No-Code Products, I.e. App Eng Studio and UI Builder. - Knowledge of design and oversee integration feeding the CMDB from discovery tools, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems. - Knowledge of CMDB data accuracy, normalization, reconciliation, and lifecycle management. - Knowledge with ServiceNow implementation experience with developing business process automation via Portal, Flow Designer, and App Eng Studio or comparable process automation tools. - Proven experience with Java, Python, Generative AI, and data modeling - Experience in designing and implementing microservices/APIs, and integration services. - Ability to take care of ambiguous requirements by meeting with business partners to drill down on specific work required. - Candidate must be willing to provide on-call support outside business hours. - Demonstrates the American Century Investments Winning Behaviors: Client Focused, Courageous and Accountable, Collaborative, Curious and Adaptable, Competitively Driven.
