Director, People Analytics
Samsara
• Develop and execute a comprehensive people analytics strategy that aligns with the company's business goals and people strategy. • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of people analytics professionals, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of people data to identify trends, predict outcomes, and provide strategic recommendations on critical people issues. • Partner closely with executive leadership, HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, and other key stakeholders to understand their business challenges and provide data-backed solutions. • Oversee the design, delivery and enablement of a suite of self-service dashboards, interfaces and reports that empower leaders across the organization. • Act as the subject matter expert on people analytics tools and technologies, including Workday, data visualization platforms such as Tableau, AI/Automation, and statistical software. • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, compelling, and concise presentations and narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences. • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices. • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in an analytics role, with at least 5 years in a dedicated people analytics function.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience developing and executing a multi-year analytics roadmap and strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to produce executive-ready deliverables (dashboards, decks, presentations, and narratives).
- Experience establishing data governance and best practices for data integrity, privacy, and compliance.
- Experience with practical application of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytical techniques.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people data to business outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Deep knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employee lifecycle events.
- Experience working in a high-growth technology company.

Maintain the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all countries to ensure process continuity and audit readiness. • Country-Specific Operational Ownership: Manage the end-to-end execution of regional operational nuances, including statutory reporting to local authorities, the adaptation of contracts to meet localized labor statutes, and the oversight of regional fiscal adjustments such as tax regime shifts or statutory contributions. • Employee Lifecycle & Offboarding: Partner with PBPs on disciplinary actions and PIPs. Manage the end-to-end offboarding process, including exit agreements and coordination with legal counsel for claims or lawsuits.
