Acceptance Market Manager

• Develop and drive merchant acceptance • Identify, engage and activate priority German-speaking merchants to adopt and prioritize Wero • Support the development of new acceptance verticals (public transport, POS activation, mobility, services…) • Be the primary point of contact for merchants through onboarding and activation • Support merchants throughout onboarding & activation • Ensure merchants follow the required onboarding steps and meet PSP-related activation prerequisites • Act as the operational liaison between merchants, acquirers and EPI teams • Guide merchants through Wero implementation, answering functional and technical questions • Represent Wero across the European ecosystem • Participate in key industry events, associations and forums to increase awareness and adoption • Monitor market dynamics and competitive offerings to feed into EPI’s acceptance strategy • Bridge merchant needs with internal teams • Translate merchant feedback into actionable insights for Product, Scheme, Pricing and Membership teams • Ensure acceptance requirements are clearly communicated and prioritized internally • Stay up-to-date on product details to guide merchants effectively • Provide visibility through structured reporting • Maintain an updated pipeline and activity tracking • Synthesize and present merchant progress and market insights to support strategic decisions
Job Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in payments, business development or related domains
- Strong knowledge of the German payment ecosystem
- Experience in payment business development or payment strategy
- Background in project and/or product management
- Proven ability to drive merchants or partners through onboarding and activation processes
- Excellent relationship-building skills with stakeholders across merchants, partners and internal teams
- Comfortable operating in a remote‑first, multicultural and fast‑evolving environment

- German: fluent (mandatory)
