Business Development Manager – 12 month FTC

Moodle

• Identify and recruit new technology partners aligned with Moodle’s strategy. • Achieve partner and revenue targets across CIs, VARs, and Marketplace programs. • Represent Moodle at conferences and networking events to uncover opportunities. • Target high-potential partners and markets. • Manage partners from first contact through onboarding and program activation. • Evaluate partner fit based on strategy, market presence, and customer alignment. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth assessment, certification, and activation. • Lead contract negotiations and ensure partners understand compliance requirements. • Handover partners to account management for ongoing support and success. • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and procurement channels to inform targeting and strategy.

Job Requirements

  • You have a proven track record in sales, deal closing, and partner acquisition, ideally in EdTech or technology ecosystems.
  • You are skilled at building and maintaining strong partner relationships and managing pipelines.
  • You have excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • You are self-motivated, results-oriented, and organized, able to execute complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
  • You are analytical, capable of interpreting market data and optimizing strategies.
  • Desirable but not essential: Working knowledge of the Moodle ecosystem, technical understanding of LMS/integrations, experience drafting contracts.

You will help to assure senior leaders in the EA and Defra on progress against the Spending Review Delivery Plan, wider business plans and other corporate requirements. - Co-ordinate and deliver key business needs across: - Governance - Financial forecasting - Monitoring and reporting - Future funding bids - Risk management - Benefits realisation - Evaluation and monitoring - Business performance monitoring and reporting - Data management - Business planning We are seeking motivated individuals with specialist knowledge and a strong track record in any of these areas. You will work across all Planning and Place teams and with wider EA colleagues involved in business planning, so excellent collaboration, communication and engagement skills are essential. Technical knowledge of spatial planning is not required, but it may be beneficial. Most importantly, you will bring genuine enthusiasm for supporting the organisation to deliver the government’s growth mission. Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training, and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
