Role Description Alpha Omega is searching for an experienced Oracle Database Developer to join one of our long-term Federal projects. This individual will be required to work closely with AOI, its clients, and/or any third-party staff, including subject matter and technical experts, project managers, etc. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. - Troubleshooting, maintaining and modernizing existing applications. - Communicating effectively with AOI and client's project leadership and other staff. - Demonstrable proficiency with: - Oracle 19+ databases - PL/SQL packages, functions and stored procedures - JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, XML, HTML5, CSS - SOAP based Web Services - Understanding of Oracle application configuration, SQL, PL/SQL package/procedure-based programming, database object modeling, performance tuning for custom extensions, data conversions, data reporting and interface development. - Support the development and application of best practices, program standards and conventions. - Ability to analyze and refactor existing code to enhance performance, functionality and maintainability. - Familiarity with all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and the ability to support all phases of the SDLC including O&M support and disposition. - Enthusiasm, positive attitude, superb work ethic, attention to detail and ability to work without supervision. - This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, and time-management skills. - Successful candidates must clear a background screen. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related scientific or technical degree; or equivalent experience. - 4-7 years’ hands-on experience developing Oracle-based applications. - Prior production support and software O&M experience. - Version control systems (SVN, Git). • Understanding of the IFRS 17 standard as it relates to the risk adjustment • Survey of current practices for measuring the Risk Adjustment under IFRS 17 • Identification of critical variables (e.g., claims volatility, policy cancellations/surrenders, expenses, lapses) and available internal data sources • Justify the methodology of the statistical model used for the risk adjustment • Perform consistency tests to validate and maintain the statistical model for the risk adjustment • Prepare documentation and provide support for internal and external audits

• Embark on a large-scale, multi-year modernization initiative to transform a legacy monolithic PHP application into a modern, microservice-oriented architecture hosted on AWS. • Bring deep experience in API-driven development, AWS cloud infrastructure, and modern DevOps practices to help drive this transformation. • Play a key role in decoupling business domains, architecting, implementing, and maintaining new microservices using Symfony/Doctrine or similar frameworks. • Focus on delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable API integrations. • Bring hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle — from design and implementation to CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code — all within an Agile Scrum environment. • Collaborate closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to design cloud-native solutions using AWS services (e.g., Lambda, ECS, EKS, S3, API Gateway).
