Operations Manager

Role Description We're looking for an Operations Manager to lead our Amazon USA private label business — both at the strategic level and in the weeds. This is a 50/50 role: half hands-on operator, half team lead. You'll own supply chain, Amazon account health, inventory planning, and vendor relationships while managing a small team of 2–3. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, care deeply about process, and want to build something meaningful in e-commerce — this is the role. Key Responsibilities - Operations & Supply Chain - Oversee the Supply Chain Manager and ensure end-to-end supply chain operations run smoothly, from supplier production in China to 3PL warehouses in the USA, and final delivery to Amazon fulfillment centers. - Actively support the team during critical operational periods — stepping in to execute and problem-solve logistics, customs clearance, or inbound delays. - Provide guidance and make strategic decisions on inbound logistics, customs clearance, and domestic transport. - Maintain visibility on inventory levels and work with the Supply Chain Manager to prevent stockouts or excess inventory. - Bring hands-on experience in supply chain management, including creating and managing seasonal and monthly forecasting models, with proven ability to make accurate forecasts that guide purchasing and replenishment. - Amazon Marketplace Operations - Oversee the Supply Chain Manager to ensure order management and supervise Administrative Assistant in handling customer service and timely resolution of account-related issues. - Manage Amazon account health, including policy violations, IP complaints, and other compliance issues, resolving them independently and efficiently. - Hands-on expertise in Amazon Seller Central — directly executing operational tasks when needed. - Coordinate with internal teams to ensure the PPC team can adjust advertising strategies based on inventory levels. - Monitor product listings, rankings, and competitor activity to maintain competitiveness. - Vendor & Purchasing Management - Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers. - Evaluate vendor performance and ensure high-quality standards and on-time deliveries. - Oversee purchasing activities, ensuring cost-efficiency while maintaining product quality. - Step in to negotiate or manage critical supplier issues when escalation is required. - Leadership & Team Management - Manage and mentor a small team of 2–3 operations staff. - Establish clear processes, KPIs, and accountability for the team. - Promote a continuous improvement culture, driving efficiency gains of “1% better every day.” - Lead by example — working alongside the team in daily operations, modeling problem-solving, and maintaining high execution standards. - This role may also involve ad-hoc projects and other analysis or operational tasks beyond those listed, as required to support the evolving priorities of the business. Qualifications - 3+ years of hand-on experience in operations, supply chain, or logistics in an Amazon environment. - Extremely detail-oriented, process-driven, and highly organized, with a focus on continuous improvement. - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with partial overlap to the U.S. East Coast time zone. - Strong knowledge of Amazon FBA logistics, 3PL operations, and international shipments (China to USA), including customs and freight forwarding. - Proven track record in forecasting, inventory planning, and demand analysis to support seasonal and replenishment cycles. - Hands-on experience managing Amazon account health, including policy violations, IP complaints, and compliance issues. - Solid understanding of how PPC advertising and marketing performance impact inventory and operations. - Fluent in English (required); strong communication and analytical skills. Nice to have - Amazon account health and IP complaint experience - Mandarin (for supplier communication) - Helium 10, SoStocked, or similar tools - ClickUp or Asana - Experience launching products on Amazon - Google Sheets / Excel proficiency - Prior small team management in e-commerce 90 Day Objectives - Master day-to-day supply chain and operations: Fully understand all processes from China supplier production to 3PL and Amazon FBA, including logistics, inventory management, and issue resolution. - Learn and master Amazon Seller Central: Understand workflows for order management, account health, and compliance, while building the skills to independently identify and resolve policy, IP issues (if any), or operational issues. - Understand and apply seasonal forecasting: Learn existing forecasting models, analyze historical sales data, and consider seasonal factors to ensure accurate demand planning. - Submit actionable demand forecasts: Produce reliable demand forecasts that aligned with seasonal trends and operational constraints. Key Performance Indicators - Healthy Inventory Levels - Target 60-90 days inventory available at 3PL warehouse for each SKU - Less than 8 SKUs overstocked beyond forecast period (typically 6 months) - Less than 4 SKUs overstocked at Amazon FBA (greater than 75 days inventory) - Less than 2 SKUs understocked at Amazon FBA (less than 21 days inventory) - Amazon Inventory Performance Index (IPI) - Greater than 465
