Role Description We are seeking Data Mechanic's who will further develop computational tools and lead complex analyses using cutting edge technology, approaches, and visualisation tools. As a Senior Data Mechanic, you are a key driver of our platform development strategy and direction in establishing data insight platforms that generate significant customer value. Qualifications - Experience as a Director / Partner Analytics with a professional service / consulting firm. - Potential experience as a Product Development Manager for a B2B / B2C Analytics product. - Well-versed in advanced statistical modelling and data mining techniques. - Able to creatively combine diverse computational methods, and develop new ones when necessary. - Fully capable of turning questions into testable hypotheses, extracting data from complex databases, creating and evaluating statistical models, and presenting insights to senior management and operational leaders. - Comfortable communicating complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences. - Experience with agile development processes. - Bachelor’s / Advanced degree in a technical field (computer science, engineering, math, science, MIS); MBA preferred. - 3+ years of applicable experience developing and successfully implementing statistical models for data mining, predictive modelling, clustering, and classification. - Experience with relational databases and SQL queries. - Proficiency in statistical software (e.g. R, SAS, SPSS). - Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, C++, Java). - Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks, such as MapReduce. - GeoSpatial technologies experience. - Analytic pipeline Development, Workflow optimisation experience. - Strong technical background / domain expertise in search, machine learning and/or analytics. - Hands-on deployment / implementation experience. - Ability to understand and communicate complex concepts and technologies, and translate them into business-oriented value propositions. - Effective writing, instructional design, presentation, creation, and public speaking skills. - Motivated, results-oriented, multi-tasking go-getter up to the challenge of a fast-paced entrepreneurial venture. - Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills. - Infectious passion.
