Job Description

Director, Content & AI Systems

Ontra

Role Description Ontra is seeking a Director, Content & AI Systems reporting to our VP, Product Marketing and Content. We’re looking for someone excited to build and own an AI-native content operating system that transforms how we create, distribute, and measure content. This is not a traditional content leadership role. You will design the systems, workflows, and intelligence that enable high-quality, high-volume content creation powered by AI and human judgment. If you’re a strategic thinker and strong editor who enjoys building from scratch, we’d love to get to know you! Your ability to translate market signals, proprietary data, and customer insights into a scalable content engine will help position Ontra as a category-defining voice in private markets while directly driving pipeline and revenue impact. What You’ll Do - Content Strategy & Intelligence: Design and own a rolling 90-day content strategy aligned to persona-level buying journeys across key segments, incorporating market signals, regulatory trends, and competitive insights to inform content direction. - AI-Native Content Systems: Architect and build an AI-native content system in partnership with GTM Engineering, including agent-based workflows and structured prompts that scale content creation while maintaining quality. - Content Creation & Editorial Quality: Set and enforce editorial standards across all formats, including long-form reports, blogs, email, video, and executive content, ensuring all output meets a high bar for insight, clarity, and impact. - Executive Voice & Thought Leadership: Own and elevate Ontra’s executive voices across channels, including LinkedIn and strategic communications, ensuring content reflects a strong, differentiated point of view. - Distribution & Orchestration: Build and manage a channel orchestration system in partnership with channel leads that ensures the right content reaches the right audience at the right time. - Performance & Measurement: Own content-to-pipeline attribution, analyze performance across channels and formats, and continuously refine strategy based on data, including emerging signals such as AI-driven search visibility. Qualifications - 8+ years of content strategy and execution of full-funnel B2B content journeys, including 5+ years of editorial oversight and 3+ years of people management experience. - Proven experience building or operating AI-enabled content workflows, with a systems-oriented mindset focused on scalability, automation, and continuous improvement. - Strong editorial judgment and executive-level writing ability, with experience shaping content that influences senior audiences and drives meaningful engagement. - Experience owning or contributing to content measurement frameworks tied to pipeline and revenue, with a clear understanding of attribution and performance analysis. - Familiarity with modern marketing and AI tools and comfort working alongside technical partners to build integrated systems. - Interest in financial services, private equity, or complex B2B markets, with a willingness to develop deep domain expertise. - Builder-oriented, curious, and energized by creating new systems and processes; motivated by impact, ownership, and raising the bar on quality and performance. Benefits - Remote-first by design, with regular in-person gatherings and hub spaces in NYC, Santa Barbara, and London. - Twice yearly team offsites for in-person collaboration. - Paid flexible time off policy. - Paid parental leave and benefits. - Employer-supported retirement contributions, varying by country. - Monthly phone and internet reimbursement. - Pick Your Perk stipend to spend on what matters most to you, from well-being and gym memberships, to home office setup, student loans, pet care, and more. - Company-sponsored LinkedIn Learning accounts, department budgets for professional development, and robust onboarding program. - Various options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Travel Occasional travel is required for Ontra employees, including typically at least twice per year to attend team and larger group off-sites for in-person collaboration. For some roles, additional travel may be required based on the requirements of the role and business need. Inclusivity Ontra is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals. As part of this commitment, Ontra will ensure that persons with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodations. If reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and/or to receive other benefits and privileges of employment, please contact people@ontra.ai.
