Role Description - Manage all aspects of assigned collection cases from inception through resolution. - Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents. - Represent clients in court proceedings. - Negotiate settlements and payment arrangements with opposing counsel and debtors. - Conduct legal research to support case strategy and ensure compliance with state and federal laws. - Maintain accurate and timely case documentation in case management systems. - Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. - Ensure adherence to client guidelines and firm policies. - Collaborate with internal teams including litigation support and compliance. Qualifications - The candidate must be a member of good standing of the Colorado Bar. - 3+ years of legal experience, preferably in collections, creditors’ rights, or civil litigation. - Strong knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and relevant state laws. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment. - Proficient in legal research tools and case management software. Role Description Sodoro Law Group is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our defense practice. This role may be structured as full-time or part-time and is ideal for an attorney seeking flexibility while maintaining an active, meaningful litigation caseload. - Manage defense litigation matters from inception through resolution - Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop strategic defense strategies - Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery responses - Conduct depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations - Prepare witnesses and evidence for hearings, trial, and ADR - Communicate strategy, risk analysis, and recommendations to clients - Collaborate with partners, clients, and claims professionals Qualifications - 3+ years of litigation experience in Insurance Defense, Workers’ Compensation, and/or General Liability - Licensed in Kansas or Missouri (both preferred; willingness to obtain reciprocal licensure required if applicable) - Strong motion practice and writing skills - Ability to independently manage deadlines and caseload - Excellent communication skills - Highly organized and detail-oriented - Candidate may work remotely from anywhere in Kansas or Missouri, provided they are able to travel to the Omaha, Kansas City, and/or St. Louis area periodically for meetings, collaboration, hearings, or client needs. - Flexible work from home options available.
