Title: Area Sales Manager - BOSTON, MA (CA300) Location: Boston, MA, US, 02109 Department: NAC Chem-Aqua Direct Sales East Job Description: The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will manage the day to day operations of their assigned area and focus their time on supporting sales reps in their area. Additionally, they will assist with new account sales and start up on new accounts as they are sold as well as providing excellent service on existing accounts. The ASM will have oversight into the training of new reps from the date of hire through 18 – 24 months tenure. The purpose of the position is to develop the Sales and Technical competency, and full account management skills necessary to grow and operate a successful sales territory. The ASM will report into the District Sales Manager. Responsibilities: People Management / Development - Assist in the hiring process and evaluation of candidates for hire, including but not limited to field ride alongs. - Manage 2 – 3 reps plus potential of 1-2 service techs - Weekly phone recap and sales strategy planning with assigned reps - Lead training and development for the assigned sales team for success on and off the field - Monitoring rep sales activities including but not limited to service compliance, daily sales activities, training progress, sales and technical process training - Sales forecasting targets for reps - Ensure all new hires achieve training standards that lead to expertise in discussing products and services - Take action quickly to address performance deficiencies including maintaining documentation and apprising appropriate others of the status of performance issues - Modeling the Gears of Selling, on sales calls in the field. - Technical training in the field including testing, FSR reports/4 C’s, boiler and cooling systems, etc. - Knowledge of Chem-Aqua products and applications. - Spend 3-4 days a month with each sales rep - Monthly review of Salesforce reports - Assist in re-training established reps on Gears of Selling when necessary Account Management - Have a deep understanding of the markets including, competition, suppliers and customer base - Continue servicing existing accounts in the territory - Maintain a group sales of minimum of $750k This is a remote position We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
