Job Description

HSSE Technical Writer

Stantec

• Collaborate with Business Operating Unit (BOU) HSSE Managers, Regional HSSE Managers, and the HSSE Services team to develop, implement, and maintain documentation as it pertains to Stantec’s HSSE program in the US • Coordinate and develop HSSE guidance documents, presentations, and communications using plain language principles • Accountable for managing the quality process related to framework documents • Assist with information gathering sessions with HSSE and BOU operational teams to understand organizational risk and document control requirements • Support assessment and refinement of HSSE processes and procedures (as needed and as they apply to US) so they remain effective and continue to meet organizational needs • Assist with HSSE business process development in support of HSSE framework changes • Lead or contribute to HSSE knowledge sharing through Regional and BOU SharePoint sites and outreach channels such as Microsoft Viva Engage • Work with the HSSE Data and Digital Services team to visualize data and trends and develop reports and presentations • Coordinate knowledge sharing between North American and Global operations and Functional Services Team partners • Update and maintain documents in a SharePoint environment • Assist with management of change processes and planning • Keep up to date on emerging HSSE trends, regulations, and best practices • Develop and facilitate training to inform the team of HSSE program responsibilities • Lead or contribute to other HSSE initiatives as determined by the Director

Job Requirements

  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Capable of delivering, preparing, and presenting to groups
  • A willingness to work in a team atmosphere with a minimal amount of supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments
  • Understanding of US health, safety and environmental regulatory framework
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat is required. Power BI experience is an asset
  • Minimum five (5) years’ related experience in a document coordinator, technical writer, or technical editor role.
  • Diploma/certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience related to technical writing, or quality management is preferred.

Temporary Online Course Developer – RITM 190 ITM Capstone: Integrated Enterprise Technology Strategy Location: Remote (U.S.-based only) Division: Rabb School of Continuing Studies, Brandeis University Compensation: $3,000 (Approx. 65 hours over 12 weeks) Brandeis University’s Rabb School of Continuing Studies is seeking a skilled online course developer to design and build a new three credit asynchronous online course titled: RITM 190 ITM Capstone: Integrated Enterprise Technology Strategy This role is for an experienced academic and curriculum strategist to serve as an Online Course Developer within Brandeis Online’s graduate program. The developer will design and build asynchronous, instructor-facilitated online courses aligned with institutional learning outcomes, accreditation standards, and workforce relevance. This course encompasses a capstone synthesizing technical and managerial competencies to solve a real or simulated enterprise challenge. Students develop an integrated strategy encompassing architecture, operations, security, data workflows, and financial considerations. Responsibilities: The development of an online asynchronous course entails the creation and/or selection of elements as outlined in the Brandeis Online Course Standards.
