Delivery Lead - IT Planning & Execution

Lineage

The Delivery Lead - IT Planning & Execution is a key operational and strategic role responsible for tracking and driving a set of initiatives. This individual serves as the central point of coordination across delivery teams, regional leaders, and financial planning functions. They are accountable for maintaining visibility across a number of initiatives, ensuring accurate financial forecasting, driving the completion of the initiatives, and transparent status reporting. The role operates in a cross-functional, multi-national environment, bridging IT and business domains to ensure work is properly scoped, resourced, and executed in alignment with strategic priorities. Key Responsibilities: Delivery Management - For each initiative, fully understand the project outcomes, timelines, dependencies and actively drive required teams to deliver those outcomes. Identify and communicate key milestones and value outcomes. - Facilitate across various teams to prioritize initiative work items - Drive issue resolution by the identification of the appropriate team members required to resolve and facilitate to resolution. - Establish and enforce consistent reporting cadences and templates across delivery teams to enable reliable portfolio-level aggregation. - Serve as a trusted partner to both IT and business stakeholders, translating between technical delivery language and business outcomes. - Navigate effectively across geographies and time zones, fostering inclusive and efficient collaboration in a multi-national operating environment. - Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional delivery leads, finance business partners, HR, procurement, and other enabling functions. Financial Forecasting & Planning - Partner closely with analysts to develop, maintain, and refine accurate financial forecasts across the project portfolio. - Track actuals against forecast and budget, proactively identifying variances and working with stakeholders to develop corrective actions. - Support the end-to-end financial lifecycle of projects, including initial estimates, milestone-based funding reviews, and final cost reconciliation. - Provide financial inputs and narrative to support investment decisions, portfolio reviews, and planning cycles. Portfolio Tracking & Reporting - Own the successful delivery of a set of portfolio initiatives, ensuring accurate and up-to-date status across scope, schedule, budget, and risk dimensions. - Identify, document, and communicate major milestones, dependencies, delivery risks in a timely and structured manner. Intake & Demand Management (when needed) - Manage and facilitate the intake process for new work requests across assigned teams, ensuring consistent evaluation, prioritization, and onboarding of demand. - Work with team leads and product owners to assess capacity, size incoming work, and align new requests with existing portfolio commitments. - Maintain visibility into the pipeline of incoming work and communicate anticipated impacts to current delivery plans and resource availability. - Support governance forums and intake committees with structured briefings on demand trends and capacity constraints. Required Experience & Qualifications Experience - 10+ years of experience in a delivery, program management, or project management role within a technology or business transformation environment. - Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of concurrent projects, with accountability for status reporting and stakeholder communication. - Direct experience in managing project financials independently or in conjunction with financial analysts or finance business partners. - Proven track record of working in cross-functional, multi-national environments spanning IT and business domains. - Optimizing Delivery process improvement – Ability to understand organizational processes and be able to design and implement optimizations. Methodology & Technical Knowledge - Strong understanding of different methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Kanban) - Ability to operate flexibly across methodology contexts and support teams using hybrid delivery approaches. - Proficiency with portfolio and project management tooling (e.g., Jira, MS Project, MS Planner, or equivalent). Core Competencies - Portfolio Visibility: Maintains a clear, accurate, and current view of all projects across the portfolio, enabling confident decision-making by leadership. - Financial Acumen: Comfortable working with financial data, building forecasts, and communicating budget performance to both finance and non-finance audiences. - Stakeholder Communication: Adapts communication style to audience — from technical delivery teams to executive sponsors — with clarity and confidence. - Structured Problem Solving: Identifies issues early, structures options, and drives resolution across teams and geographies. - Collaborative Leadership: Influences without authority, builds trust across functions, and fosters a delivery culture rooted in accountability and continuous improvement. - Cultural Agility: Operates effectively across cultural and organizational boundaries in a global delivery environment.
