Engineering Manager
Great Gray Trust Company
• Lead and develop one to two agile development teams (4-8 engineers), providing coaching, mentorship, and career development to continue building our high-performing, collaborative engineering organization. • Partner closely with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps, ensuring teams have clear priorities, well-defined requirements, and the resources needed to deliver high-impact features • Own team delivery and operational metrics, removing blockers, managing technical dependencies, and ensuring predictable sprint execution and on-time delivery of committed features • Collaborate with leadership to align technical decisions with business goals and deliver outstanding customer value. • Participate in technical decision-making and architecture discussions, balancing near-term delivery needs with long-term platform scalability, maintainability, and technical debt management • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives, implementing process refinements, and promoting knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams • Contribute to the broader engineering organization by participating in hiring, defining team standards and processes, and helping shape Great Gray's engineering culture as the technology team scales
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of experience shipping great software, 3+ years with web applications.
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills, prioritizing clarity.
- Technical background in modern web application development (compiled object-oriented languages such as C#/Java, and frontend frameworks like Angular/React/Next.js)
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, working effectively with Product, Design, QA, and other engineering teams.
