• Responsible for the management of the general accounting functions for the Insurance and Marketing Services divisions • Leadership of the day-to-day operations as well as special projects associated with process improvement initiatives • Fostering and maintaining professional relationships within the company, external partners such as accountants and consultants, staff members, and various other departments • Lead and manage a team of Accounting and A/R staff • Management of the monthly financial closing process • Create and review monthly journal entries for accuracy • Assure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on time and are accurate • Review client SOWs and invoices to ensure clients are billed accurately • Review and analyze daily cash collection • Perform treasury functions of the business • Oversight and management of the various financial systems • Manage the company’s fixed assets • Maintain audit and tax compliance • Ensure regulatory compliance (GAAP) and internal control maintenance • Assist with internal and external audits • Special projects as warranted by the business
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Accounting or comparable degree or experience
- Minimum of five years of management experience required
- Experience with NetSuite software or comparable financial system
- Full cycle accounting experience: accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax compliance, financial reporting, and audit
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical abilities, including effective presentation of results
- Proven leadership capabilities with a demonstrated aptitude for collaborative teamwork
- A demonstrated sense of urgency to produce results
- Excellent organizational skills
- Innovation and creativity – a problem solver
- The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while focusing on completion of the highest priority items in the shortest time frame possible

Accounting Manager Rapid7 is looking to recruit an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for the accounting of our Corporate and North America subsidiaries, as well as play a pivotal role in supporting the Americas Accounting Controller to scale and implement best-in-class operational processes to maximize the efficiency of the general ledger accounting team. About the Team The general ledger accounting team manages the global month-end close and consolidation process. This primarily includes recording journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and reviewing flux analysis, as well as working cross-functionally with teams across the business. About the Role As an Accounting Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage the monthly close process across the Corporate and North America subsidiaries ensuring compliance with US GAAP as well as Sarbanes-Oxley. This role will play a pivotal role in supporting the Americas Accounting Controller to scale and implement best-in-class operational processes to maximize the efficiency of the general ledger accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a background in the software industry, project management, strong operations experience, and technical accounting knowledge, as well as the ability to support all aspects of general ledger and month-end close processes. The position will be required to work cross-functionally, especially with Tax, Treasury, Legal, and People Strategy departments on various compliance needs. As an Accounting Manager you will be responsible for interpreting technical accounting rules and applying them in practice. Specifically, your focus will be to: - Review and ensure completion of the Corporate and North America subsidiaries general ledger activities, including the month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, ad-hoc analyses, and variance analysis, while adhering to tight deadlines - Preparation of technical accounting areas such as leases, cloud computing arrangements, hedging, corporate accruals, and complex estimates - Proactively identify complex accounting items and facilitate cross-functional alignment with the technical accounting team to determine appropriate treatment in accordance with US GAAP - Ensure compliance with internal controls related to financial close; ensure internal control narratives, flowcharts and control matrices remain current with the company's current practices and operations - Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, automation, and scalability of the corporate close process - Serve as a primary liaison with external auditors for consolidated accounting and corporate close areas - Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships The skills and qualities you'll bring include: - A BS degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA preferred - Minimum of five years of accounting experience (public company experience a plus) - Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls - Strong analytical skills and critical thinking - High energy with a sense of urgency and ability to multitask - Keen sense of process management and ability to drive process change and improvement - Demonstrate ability to design, manage and administer sophisticated best practice financial systems a plus - Proficient with NetSuite, Concur, Coupa and ADP a plus - Demonstrate ability to build and sustain critical partnerships with staff and operating management - Embody our core values to foster a culture of excellence that drives meaningful impact and collective success We know that the best ideas and solutions come from multi-dimensional teams.
