• Define, implement, and manage the organization’s cloud architecture strategy, incorporating cloud adoption plans, application modernization approaches, and cost optimized design principles • Design and govern application architectures deployed in cloud environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and alignment with enterprise standards. • Architect and oversee implementation of core cloud infrastructure components, including compute, storage, identity, and security services, emphasizing automated, repeatable deployment patterns • Design and implement secure cloud networking architectures that connect distributed, hybrid, and enterprise systems, incorporating zero trust principles and cybersecurity requirements • Integrate identity federation and modern authentication mechanisms, including SAML and OAuth 2.0, to support secure access and zero trust access controls across cloud platforms • Design and oversee cloud-based delivery platforms, including frontend and backend services, leveraging automated provisioning and deployment pipelines to ensure consistency across the systems engineering lifecycle • Establish and enforce secure cloud storage and computing environments in compliance with applicable cybersecurity standards, directives, and policies • Lead architectural initiatives that promote a cloud-first approach and support enterprise modernization efforts • Lead collaboration with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to design and implement enterprise cloud solutions • Engage with customer leadership and technical stakeholders to support solution development and architecture discussions • Conduct architecture assessments and provide recommendations for future-state cloud environments • Lead technical workshops and discovery sessions to support solution design and modernization planning • Resolve cloud architecture implementation issues during integration, testing, and deployment phases • Provide technical leadership supporting operational strategies aligned with program objectives • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded • Identify and forward to leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area • Participate in growth efforts as requested • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met or exceeded to the customer's satisfaction • Complete personal PDP and attend Staff Meetings and Storytime (with camera on) • Build productive and positive professional relationships with clients within your program • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements • Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with at least 15 years of experience in cloud architecture or related technical fields
- Extensive experience designing and implementing secure, scalable cloud architectures within AWS
- Considered an emerging authority with strong technical expertise in cloud architecture
- Functional knowledge of scripting languages like Bash, Python, PowerShell or other similar languages
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise-level cloud solutions
- Ability to develop technical solutions to complex architectural challenges
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture efforts and guide technical teams
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT Level II certification
- At least one cloud certification

Description ON-CALL SENIOR RESEARCH CONSULTANT The Workforce Innovations, Emergency Preparedness and Poverty Solutions (WIPPS) practice works to improve the conditions of America's most at-risk populations and provide strategic consulting support to workforce development agencies throughout the United States.
