Role Description Support mission-critical initiatives and enable the growth of our business as a Help Desk Technician III at GDIT. Here, you’ll become an integral part of how GDIT is able to ensure the safety and security of our nation. - Provides technical support and troubleshooting for network, desktop, and/or systems hardware, software, and mobile devices. - Password reset assistance, and supporting multiple customers within a 24/7/365 support environment. - Actively participates in daily stand-ups, knowledge-sharing sessions, and collaborative problem-solving. - Communicates clearly, listens actively, and offers and receives support to meet service-level agreements. - Collaborates with senior technicians and other IT specialists on complex or escalating issues. - Conducts joint troubleshooting sessions and contributes to post-mortem analyses to identify root causes. - Identifies trends, develops permanent solutions, and documents best practices to minimize future disruptions. - Manages a queue of technical support requests, prioritizing impact-based issues and documenting resolutions. - Utilizes expertise in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard network protocols. - Utilizes ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) to manage requests and remote desktop tools for user assistance. - Translates technical jargon into understandable language for users and collaborates effectively with the team. Qualifications - Education: High School Diploma plus 5+ years of related experience in a corporate environment; OR Associate's degree plus 3+ years of related experience in a corporate environment. - Required Experience: Experience in a technical support or help desk role in a corporate environment. - Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365 administration and troubleshooting, Active Directory user and group management, basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS), and experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow). - Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24x7x365 support model. - Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, a customer-centric approach, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail. - US Person Required. - Preferred Skills: Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), mobile device management (MDM) solutions, ITIL framework knowledge, and certifications such as ServiceNow fundamentals, CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Citrix, and Jira. The Role of the IT System Support Technician Within WeVote, we support all of our initiatives with custom software as well as ~15 other software systems to support our mission. We’re looking for volunteers to help manage these systems and our volunteer users. Our user base is approximately 200 volunteers. The IT system support technicians will aid with giving our volunteers new accounts, resetting passwords, changing permissions and updating , as well as answering questions and administering our technical solutions. What You'll Accomplish - Technical support for volunteer user base, primarily using Slack and email - Oversee and manage the organization's technology systems and infrastructure, performing administrative tasks as necessary - Assist with developing and implementing IT policies and procedures to ensure business continuity and data security - Work with IT team members and technical leadership to ensure efficient and effective operation of the organization’s technical systems - Recommend tools/systems to address organization’s challenges, staying up to date on technology advancements - Monitor and maintain the organization's technology systems to ensure optimal performance Your Background - 5+ years IT technical support experience, preferably in the social impact space - Excellent communication and problem solving skills - Technical training experience, preferably with non-technical users - Google workspace experience - System implementation experience - Onboarding/offboarding employee experience Essential Requirements Availability: At least 5 hours each week during our core team hours M-F 9 a.m. - 6 p.m PST with the ability to work 1-2 hours during Pacific Time overlap.
