Summary: The OpenText Technical Architect is responsible for the end-to-end technical architecture, upgrade strategy, cloud migration, and operational excellence of complex OpenText Extended ECM environments integrated with enterprise applications such as SAP.cloud transformation of complex OpenText Extended ECM (xECM) environments, including migrations from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. Key Responsibilities - Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise OpenText ECM platforms, including Content Server, Extended ECM (xECM), Archive Server, Core Capture, Imaging, and related OpenText components. - Architect and execute complex OpenText platform upgrades, including upgrades of Content Server, xECM, Archive Server, Core Capture, and other dependent OpenText modules. - Design and lead migration strategies for OpenText environments transitioning from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure cloud platforms, including infrastructure architecture and application migration planning. - Define scalable and highly available Azure-based architectures for OpenText deployments, including virtual machines, storage, networking, load balancing, and disaster recovery configurations. - Develop technical migration plans for OpenText data, databases, and storage, including migration of file systems, document repositories, and metadata stores to cloud-based storage solutions. - Architect and maintain integrations between OpenText Extended ECM and SAP systems, including SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Ariba, and other enterprise applications. - Design and optimize xECM workspace architectures aligned with SAP business objects and enterprise information governance strategies. - Define and implement SAP ArchiveLink architecture, document storage strategies, and secure content repository configurations. - Ensure performance optimization and scalability of OpenText platforms, including database tuning, metadata optimization, indexing strategies, and system resource optimization. - Design secure OpenText environments aligned with enterprise security standards, including authentication integration with Active Directory or Azure AD, role-based access controls, and encryption strategies. - Define enterprise-level disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for OpenText environments, including cross-region replication, backup strategies, and recovery procedures. - Collaborate with enterprise infrastructure, cloud, SAP, and database teams to ensure seamless platform integration and operational reliability. - Establish DevOps and automation practices for OpenText deployments, including CI/CD pipelines, automated environment provisioning, infrastructure-as-code implementations, and configuration management. - Provide technical leadership to development, administration, and infrastructure teams, including mentoring engineers, guiding architecture decisions, and resolving complex technical challenges. - Conduct technical architecture workshops and design reviews with stakeholders, including enterprise architects, SAP teams, infrastructure teams, and business leadership. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within OpenText environments, including system performance, integration issues, and platform stability concerns. - Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including solution architecture documents, infrastructure diagrams, migration runbooks, upgrade procedures, and operational guides. - Ensure compliance with enterprise governance, security, and regulatory standards, including audit requirements, records management, and information lifecycle policies. - Support enterprise transformation initiatives, including SAP S/4HANA programs, digital content modernization, and enterprise cloud adoption strategies. - Act as the primary technical authority for OpenText platforms, providing guidance on architecture standards, best practices, and long-term platform strategy. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required Experience: - 10+ years of experience implementing, upgrading, and supporting enterprise OpenText ECM platforms, including OpenText Content Server, OpenText Extended ECM (xECM), and OpenText Archive Server. - Strong experience designing and deploying solutions on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, and Azure Monitoring services. - Extensive experience with enterprise databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and database migration strategies. - Strong experience administering and supporting enterprise operating systems, including Linux and Windows Server environments. Role Description Code for America is looking for a talented Staff Solutions Architect who will contribute to building products and digital services that transform the way government delivers services to communities in need. In this role, you’ll work with a team of designers, researchers, engineers, product managers, and policy experts across our delivery areas. You will spend time with key government agencies to build rapport with their technical team, understand their technical needs, and develop a shared understanding of how Code for America can help them achieve their goals. This will involve identifying and designing technical solutions to improve access to their programs. Solutions Architects at Code for America are an integral component of all of our delivery areas. There are currently five focused delivery areas at Code for America: - Social Safety Net: focus areas include food benefits, integrated benefits applications, and training & capacity building. - Tax Benefits: focuses on free trustworthy tax services and simplified tax filing. - Artificial Intelligence: focuses on responsibly applying AI to improve government service delivery. - Criminal Justice: focuses on Automatic Record Clearance. - Rapid Response: focuses on delivering critical resources to residents during crises.
