High Level Physics and Calculus Tutor
ESM Prep
Role Description Join ESM Prep as an in-person and/or remote Academic Mentor! We’re looking for a passionate educator to provide high-quality tutoring in AP Physics 1 through C. You should also be able to assist students in AP BC Calculus and below. Candidates must be based in and able to consistently work within the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) to align with student schedules and real-time support needs. Enjoy a flexible schedule and earn $60-$70/hr while making a meaningful impact on students' academic journeys. ESM Prep is seeking an energetic, engaging, and kind tutor in the Pacific Time Zone who can support their students holistically as a mentor. The majority of our students are located in California, with in-person tutoring opportunities in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, and Los Angeles, but this position can be remote, work from home. The tutor in this position will assist students one-on-one in preparing for college by readying them for the AP exams and mentoring them through their overall high school academic journey. We call our tutors Academic Mentors because we prioritize the holistic development of each of our students. All applicants should be passionate about working with youth and should have previous experience tutoring, teaching, and/or coaching. Qualifications - Prior experience tutoring or teaching high-level Physics, AP Physics 2 or higher, as well as math through AP BC Calculus. - Bachelor's degree. - Available part-time. Tutoring usually occurs on weekday evenings (after 3 pm) and/or on weekends. Typical work schedule is Sunday-Thursday. - Available to tutor for a full school year or longer. - Reliable internet access. - Additional expertise in high school subjects such as science, history, English, Spanish, computer science, economics, SAT/ACT, SSAT/SEE is a plus! - Prior experience teaching or tutoring ACT/SAT or willingness to go through our advanced test prep training is a big plus and would open you up to more work opportunities. Requirements - Must be based in and able to consistently work within the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) to align with student schedules and real-time support needs. Benefits - Wage: $60-$70/hr (remote academic tutoring in high school subjects starts at $60/hr, while remote test prep tutoring starts at $70/hr). - A bonus of +$10 per hour is applied for any in-person work. - Additional compensation for training and administrative functions. - Flexible schedule. - Pathway to full-time – based on experience, performance, and subject range. - Employee discount program.
