The patient account representative will provide direct support for clinic administrative staff and patients. Working as a branch of the CBO. Job Responsibilities: - Answer clinic questions regarding payers and patient accounts (co-pay, co-insurance, deductibles, etc.) Communicating patient responsibility as appropriate. - Serve as an escalation point for patient financial questions or concerns. - Responsible for Intake Billing set-up for their assigned clinics. - Ensures Authorizations and Eligibility is correct, complete, and timely. Monitoring compliance with authorization and referral requirements. - Requesting and maintaining authorizations, as necessary. - Tracking self-pay balances for assigned Clinics. - Review whether assigned clinics are securing patient payments on a timely basis. - Negotiate and secure payment on aged balances. Propose discounts when appropriate. - Complete Self-Pay adjustment form and submit for approval, see SOP. - Identify and propose opportunities to increase collection rates and enhance patient understanding and awareness of their financial benefits and obligations. - Monitor and report key metrics. - Audit patient accounts for completeness and accuracy (i.e., signed financial consent(s), Insurance Verification Form (IVF), authorization, Insurance card (front/back), driver’s license, etc.). - Ensuring Account corrections are made. - Ensure that information is communicated accurately and timely between clinic staff and the region’s centralized billing office. - Performs other duties and tasks as assigned Qualifications Your Education, Skills, & Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required. - 3+ years plus of healthcare insurance experience, preferable with multi-site locations. - Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality. - Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external. - Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to the next level. - Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail. - Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years plus of healthcare insurance experience, preferable with multi-site locations.
- Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
- Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to the next level.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.

• Handle 60+ inbound and outbound calls per day related to billing, payments, medical claims, and coverage questions. • Respond to telephone inquiries using standard procedures and scripts. • Gather required information, research account details, and resolve customer concerns accurately and promptly. • Clearly explain billing information, insurance benefits, and available services to patients. • Assess patient needs and provide appropriate solutions or escalate issues when necessary. • Schedule work to ensure optimal call coverage and maintain daily productivity. • Collaborate with leadership and peers using screen-sharing tools to support real-time problem-solving and performance goals. • Support department initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality policies. • Assist with department goals and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and organizational success.
