Role Description Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Personal Lines Underwriter to join a team. This role involves underwriting homeowner property and umbrella lines, with a focus on multi-family properties such as condos, rentals, and combination dwellings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting, excellent relationship-building skills with independent agents, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. Qualifications - Minimum of 8 years of experience underwriting homeowner property and umbrella lines. - Proven experience underwriting multi-family properties, including condos, rentals, and combination dwellings (up to 4 units). - Expertise in underwriting homeowner property in PA and NJ. - Strong relationships with independent agents are highly desirable. - Experience with Guidewire software is a plus. - Background in a regional insurance carrier is preferred over large carriers. - Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills. Requirements - Review policies with significant losses prior to renewal. - Assess risk changes to ensure eligibility and accurate rating for upcoming term renewals. - Evaluate files processed through automated rules for accuracy. - Collaborate with Business Development Specialists to drive profitable growth with existing and new agents. - Partner with Loss Control Specialists on home inspections, loss mitigation requests, and Insurance-to-Value (ITV) matters. - Work with the Underwriting Tech team to process policy transactions efficiently. - Perform job duties independently and as part of a team. - Provide support to team members as needed. - Travel occasionally to meet with agents and maintain strong working relationships.
