Role Description The SAP Payroll/SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll Consultant at Syntax is a critical role responsible for leading and implementing EC Payroll solutions. The consultant will leverage their comprehensive knowledge of HR and Payroll processes to guide clients through full life cycle implementations, ensuring best practices are followed. This position is open to candidates based in Canada or the United States and requires some travel within North America (10-15%). - Serve as a hands-on application expert in the SAP Payroll/SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll domain. - Collaborate individually and as part of a team to deliver EC Payroll solutions and manage the full implementation lifecycle. - Prepare and review project deliverables, ensuring accountability within project scope. - Advise Project Leads and Managers on best practice decisions tailored to client needs and culture. - Lead design workshops with clients to define solution design practices aligning with SAP best practices. - Support Project Leads in translating business goals into feasible and optimized solutions. - Conduct impact assessments with Quarterly Releases. - Develop and enhance reusable content, tools, and intellectual property. - Contribute to the knowledge base of Syntax's SAP Practice. - Support pre-sales initiatives by developing roadmaps, estimates, and responses to RFP/RFQ’s. - Setup and deliver high-quality demonstrations and presentations. - Assist and support functional and technical leads during workshops. - Design and support proof of concepts for proposed technical solutions. - Collaborate in the preparation of workshop and training materials. - Identify and propose process improvements with clear solution definitions. - Gather and analyze clients’ business requirements and objectives. Qualifications - 8+ years of SAP experience as a Payroll implementation consultant, with at least 5 years in a lead role and 3+ implementations of Employee Central Payroll. - Deep knowledge of SAP Payroll (both on-premise and EC Payroll), including payroll schema/PCR schema processes. - Experience with Canadian and US payroll is desired; knowledge of Mexico and other countries is beneficial. - Understanding of PA/OM processes is an asset. - Experience with data migration and management activities in SuccessFactors. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products. - Strong analytical and solutions-oriented mindset. Requirements - Technical experience in BASIS, ABAP, and CPI is beneficial but not required. - Knowledge of the SAP Activate Methodology for SuccessFactors. - SuccessFactors module certifications (e.g., Onboarding, LMS) are desirable but not mandatory. - Proven ability to assess and optimize client solutions using existing system functionality and best practices. - Strong organizational, planning, and management skills. Education & Certifications - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience. - Professional certifications in SAP or related areas are a plus.
