We’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Platform Operations and Network Engineering team. This is a senior individual contributor role for an engineer who: - Is comfortable operating a global production network - Understands how modern network automation should work - Is motivated to help the organization evolve toward more automated, reliable operations Our environment today is largely operations-driven. This role will be instrumental in helping us mature our automation capabilities over time while continuing to support a high-availability production network. What You Might Work On: You’ll work across both network operations and automation-driven improvement initiatives. Network Infrastructure Engineering & Operations include: - Support and help evolve Dimensional’s global network infrastructure, including: - Routing, switching, campus and data center networks - WAN and SD-WAN connectivity - Remote access and VPN - Enterprise wireless - Next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto) - Load balancing / ADC platforms (F5 and similar) - Cisco-based telephony and voice network infrastructure - Troubleshoot complex network issues across multiple domains and geographies - Work with carriers and service providers to resolve faults and support upgrades - Participate in a 24/7 production environment and shared on-call rotation - Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvements Network Automation & Modernization: - Help identify opportunities to reduce manual operational work through automation - Contribute to building and improving network automation tooling and workflows - Work with Infrastructure as Code concepts and Git-based workflows for network changes - Help the team adopt Network as Code and Operations as Code practices over time - Support development of automation for: - Device provisioning and lifecycle management - Configuration management and drift detection - Network configuration validation and compliance checks Platform & Cross-Team Collaboration: - Support networking for hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premises systems and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) - Work with platform teams supporting virtualized and containerized environments (NSX-T, OKD / OpenShift / Kubernetes) - Partner with security teams on segmentation, firewall policy, and access design - Provide guidance to other teams on network services and operational best practices Operational Excellence: - Improve monitoring, observability, and network health visibility - Build and maintain runbooks, documentation, and knowledge base articles - Help improve operational safety, repeatability, and scalability Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience - 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise environments - Strong experience operating 24/7 production network infrastructure - Solid background with Cisco routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, etc.) - Experience supporting enterprise wireless networks - Experience with next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto preferred) - Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills - Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical teams Required: Network Automation Background We are looking for someone who has previous experience implementing network automation, even if coming from a more mature environment.
