Description Purpose In this role, the Compliance & Privacy Manager (“CPM”) will provide ongoing management, education, support and enhancement to VitalConnect’s (“Company”) Compliance Program. Under the direction of Company’s Compliance and Privacy Officer (“CPO”), CPM will provide education, recommendation, guidance, and review of Company’s Business processes throughout the organization. CPMs primary source of guidance and enforcement is based on Company’s Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Federal Healthcare laws, statutes and requirements, as well as Company’s Compliance and Privacy policies and procedures. Responsibilities - VitalConnect’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics; - Policy on Interactions with Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and related policies. - Industry codes of conduct to which the company has consented, such as AdvaMed; - VitalConnect’s annual Work and Audit Plans, as supported by the Risk Assessment; - Guidance and recommendations by the DOJ and OIG related to healthcare; - VitalConnect’s Disclosure Program: Reporting, Investigation, and Corrective Action Policy and Procedure; - The HIPAA Privacy Regulations (45 CFR Parts 160 and 164); and - Federal and state regulations and other related matters specific to health care. The Compliance & Privacy Manager (“CPM”) will apply the elements of an effective compliance program with the end goal of positively influencing the Company’s daily activities to be in alignment with the Company’s Compliance and Privacy Programs. The CPM is responsible for developing, implementing, managing and maintaining a Disclosure program for the Company’s business that fulfills the specific requirements the federal healthcare laws, statutes and requirements. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Monitor compliance with VitalConnect’s Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Interactions with HCPs, Share Your Voice, Hotline, HIPAA Privacy Regulations, General Business Principles, and other standards of conduct outlined by Company policy. - Participate, collaborate with business colleagues, and manage all functions related to the disclosure of detected or suspected non-compliance matters within VitalConnect, including internal reporting, investigation, and potential correction action of detected or suspected compliance violations pursuant to the Disclosure Program. - Participate in the development and regular review of system-wide programs, policies, and procedures to help VitalConnect comply with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. - Research, revise and adopt appropriate VitalConnect policies and procedures to comply with the HIPAA Privacy Rule and updates. - Random review of Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), as needed. - Ensure all HIPAA Privacy-related documents (e.g. website & patient-facing documents) and information are correct and up to date. - Receive and respond to complaints of alleged non-compliance with the Federal Healthcare requirements and HIPAA Privacy Rule. - Address HIPAA-related questions from company leadership, fellow employees and clients, and in consultation with the Compliance Officer and VitalConnect’s Privacy Counsel, as needed,. - Maintain awareness of federal healthcare laws and regulations, keeping abreast of current changes that may affect VitalConnect through personal initiative, seminars, training programs, and peer contact. - Manage programs in which VitalConnect requires sign off or certifications related to elements of the compliance program (e.g. Conflict of Interest Certifications; New Hire & Annual Education requirements; Open Payment requirements, etc.). - Oversee the production of relevant annual reports and reporting for Open Payment/Sunshine Act. - Other duties as assigned. Team Responsibility This role will require CPM to develop and execute on a compliance vision through reporting and education in coordination with various levels of stakeholders VitalConnect with staff located across the United States. Requirements Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree required; - 10+ years of healthcare management experience inclusive of functions that require understanding, knowledge and management of Federal healthcare regulations and HIPAA compliance matters; - Leadership and management experience, inclusive of effective creation of compliance and privacy education materials with presentations to groups of 10 or greater; - Strong verbal, written, presentation and other communications skills with an ability to prioritize and manage a wide range of ethics and compliance projects and cases; - Must be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills and willingness to learn; - Must feel comfortable working in a matrix organization consisting of board members, business leaders, remote workers, compliance professionals, and attorneys. - Meaningful project and people management experience; - Skilled in of use in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software. Preferred - Advanced degree or higher education preferred; - 6-12 years of healthcare compliance and/or privacy experience with an emphasis on investigation and auditing; - Holds one or more of the following certifications: CHC, CHPC, or CCEP; - Experience developing and presentation of educational materials Salary & Benefits The estimated hiring salary range for this position is $95,000 - $135,000. * The actual salary will be based on a variety of job-related factors, including geography, skills, education and experience. The range is a good faith estimate and may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for a range of benefits including medical, dental and 401K retirement plan.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required;
