ITAM Data Analyst, CMDB

General Dynamics Information Technology

• Manage CMDB configurations and processes lifecycle data across ITAM workflows for CMS • Ensure asset tracking, compliance monitoring, and proactive risk mitigation • Develop and maintain detailed reports and dashboards for SAM operations • Monitor software utilization, license compliance, and procurement analytics • Generate Effective License Position (ELP) reports and audit-ready documentation • Identify cost optimization opportunities through data analysis and reporting dashboards • Ensure data integrity and consistency across all reporting platforms • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and maintain dashboards • Contribute to the analysis and continual improvement of ITAM processes

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Asset Management or IT asset reporting roles
  • Proven experience with CMDB platforms, specifically ServiceNow (SAM Pro, ITOM/Discovery)
  • Experience with automation and integration across IT management platforms using ServiceNow Pro Plus AI Agents
  • Expertise in ServiceNow SAM Workspace dashboards, data analysis, and reporting
  • Strong skills with SQL, Excel, and ServiceNow Performance Analytics
  • Familiarity with software license compliance metrics and entitlement tracking
  • Knowledge of SaaS usage analytics and license reclamation processes
  • Ability to interpret cost optimization opportunities from financial models or vendor pricing structures
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, harvesting/reclamation, and disposal
  • Strong commitment to a proactive approach to identifying, documenting, and improving data governance workflows
  • Experience in process improvement and automation to reduce dependencies on manual workflows and reporting
  • Ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Procurement)
