Job Summary The Credit Balance Specialist examines all credit balances before refunds or adjudications. They must comply with Billing and Coding Laws and the Baylor Scott & White Code and Ethical Conduct Policy. Essential Functions of the Role - Accountable for all patient credit balances. - Consistently works to ensure all credit balances are handled in a timely manner. - Can figure out why an account has a credit balance with little or no supervision. - Examines the patient account for posting errors before considering refund/adjudication. - Searches for other related accounts before refunding private pay credit balances. - Knows the Managed Care contracts and contractual adjustments. - Ensures timely processing of credit balance paperwork and posting. - Monitors and reports up to management any trends that are identified. - Documents productivity daily for reporting. - Follows the quality review standards set forth. - Must have an ergonomically set up workspace - Equipment will be provided Belonging Statement We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued and supported.
