Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join our Waterway Structures team! This position has the potential for remote work. The Waterway Structures team is growing and has exciting projects for engineers who like to design large complex projects on or near the water. Our projects are unique and provide a diverse array of interesting work to keep our staff challenged and engaged. As a recognized national leader in the design of waterway structures, we handle projects from initial investigation and concept design, through final design and construction services. By applying our extensive knowledge and experience, we believe our engineers, scientists and planners can build a more sustainable world through design while protecting our most valuable resource and delivering cost-effective solutions that meet our clients’ goals. Responsibilities - Structural design of complex waterway structures (e.g., locks, dams, hydraulic steel structures, pump stations, hydraulic gates, and waterfronts). - Prepare construction design documents, plans, and specifications. - Perform quality reviews of drawings and work products from CAD designers and junior engineers. - Serve as a technical contact for client, other design professionals, and contractors. - Serve on professional association committees for establishment of policies, standards, procedures, and research. - May stamp/sign drawings or reports or serve as Engineer of Record for the project. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering is required. - Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification is required; PE license or the ability to become licensed within 12 months is preferred. - 7+ years of experience on complex structural projects is required. - Experience with various structural engineering software analysis packages (i.e.: SAP2000 or STAAD.Pro). - Prior experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers design procedures and Dam Safety Guidelines is a plus. - Occasional overnight travel for site visits and/or meetings, as needed. - Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. Job Requirements
