Your Impact - Participate in the development of power delivery project proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans. - Participate in developing the work breakdown structure (WBS) tasks and estimated costs. Update documentation within designated systems and processes, including: Risk (REF/RMP), Project Management Plan (PMP), Project Quality Plan (QP), Project Safety (PSP), and Communications Plan as necessary. - Assist with facilitating project kick-off meetings with key stakeholders. - Work collaboratively with Project Accounting to assist with monitoring and tracking project metrics, estimated time-to-completion, cash management, and budgeted margin for a project or an assigned portfolio of projects. - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost and change management and control. Coordinate with area/technical managers to address project resource and subcontractor requirements in a timely manner. - Assist with overseeing subcontractors, and coordinating supplier submissions, invoices, and payments. - Participate in problem project reviews, providing input about root cause issues and potential solutions to leadership and other stakeholders. - Provide regular project reporting and updates to clients, technical area, and business unit managers. - Complete formal project closeout activities, along with conducting and documenting a lessons-learned meeting with key project staff. - Develop sufficient financial acumen to understand project financial data. - Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. - Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm. - 5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience within the power delivery/utility industry. Understanding of project delivery process within the power delivery industry and defined background and experience in project management. - Competent analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge business and project management. - Capable critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make assessments and calculations involving the application of project management principles, with a sound understanding of intent, impact, and optimal outcomes. - Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally. - Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to the changing prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. - Works independently with minimal oversight and strict adherence to QA/QC. - Well-developed with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, MS Office suite products (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), technology, spreadsheets, and PM tools. - Effective at coordinating resources, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and others to complete tasks competently and efficiently. - Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. - Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. - Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
