Medical Records Coordinator

Overview: Medical Claims Coordinators actively work directly with Attorneys and Case Managers in front end development of the claims process. This work is integral to ensuring clients’ disability claims are handled efficiently for clients. Claims Coordinators work hand in hand with other departments within the firm to ensure a smooth process for clients. They help ensure that clients receive the necessary documents and updates regarding their claims. Job Responsibilities: The Medical Claims Coordinator typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include but are not limited to the following: - Review and process medical opinion packets, which can include compiling documents within a client’s file, writing a letter to an expert, etc. - Ensuring a smooth workflow by creating forms, assisting with process improvement, uploading and downloading documentation from online portals, and organizing claims - Providing clients with a courtesy copy of all documents through an internal tracking system - Updating and maintaining the accuracy of client files - Scheduling out tasks and/or due dates for other departments - Completing assignments directly from an assigned Case Manager or Attorney - All other duties as assigned Requirements: - Two (2) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience - Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated - Business English, proofreading, and editing techniques - Excellent time management and prioritization skills - Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community - Ability to manage a fast-paced work environment. - Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor. - Proficiency in Google Workspace. - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. - Reliable internet connection for remote work. - Associate's degree or equivalent education.
