The Junior Data Scientist will work in a big data environment to help us build and deliver secure AI-enabled solutions. In this role you will develop and maintain Python and SQL solutions (e.g., using Jupyter/Notebook, Streamlit, and Snowflake), support data exploration and predictive modeling, and help us implement generative AI capabilities. Responsibilities Support the development and maintenance of Python solutions in Jupyter/Notebook and Streamlit, using Snowflake for data storage and querying under guidance from senior team members. Assist with designing, prototyping, and implementing AI-enabled capabilities (e.g., chatbots, code-assist/code-generation workflows) to meet program needs. Help build and maintain evaluation datasets and metrics (e.g., accuracy, groundedness, hallucination checks) and contribute to model testing and quality validation. Create simple data visualizations, dashboards, and analysis outputs to communicate findings and support decision-making. Follow responsible AI practices throughout development and deployment, including transparency, fairness, robustness, explainability, and basic solution observability, escalating risks/issues as needed. Stay current on emerging AI/ML and assistant technologies; share relevant updates, demos, or findings with the team. Collaborate with an agile team of data scientists by completing assigned tasks, participating in ceremonies, documenting work, and iterating on analytics products. Qualifications US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust. Requires a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s degree with at least two (2) years of experience. Four (4) years of specialized experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree. Advanced certifications can be used to substitute for experience. • Develop and implement algorithms for navigation, positioning, and motion estimation • Work with sensor data (e.g., GPS/GNSS, IMU) to build reliable models • Design and apply sensor fusion techniques to combine data sources • Implement and optimize filtering and estimation algorithms (e.g., Kalman Filters) • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and performance improvements • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into production systems • Validate models through simulations and real-world data testing • Document methodologies, assumptions, and results for stakeholders

• Seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support a proof-of-concept demonstration using natural language processing and other machine learning methods to improve the intake process. • Oversee and support the development, implementation, and testing of statistical models, integration of NLP, and refinement and testing of the prototype. • Work closely with State stakeholders and technical team members to ensure the quality of the results and that the derived methods are transparent, statistically sound, relevant, and documented. • Establish a framework for the execution of technical tasks within the proof-of-concept. • Identify critical milestones related to information, receipt of data, testing, and delivery. • Identify key risk factors and means of mitigation. • Lead the development of a new intake process that leverages natural language processing and other machine learning algorithms. • Document the final approach for transparency. • Create the framework for the design review process.
