Role Description The Project Controls Engineer (supporting several manufacturing plants) position will coordinate the design, installation and start-up of process control migrations, modifications, and new installations, as well as supporting plant construction or process equipment projects for Feed Manufacturing Operations and other business units. This position is responsible for the development of project scope and driving process control improvements with the Regional Director of Manufacturing, cross functional business teams, and Plant Managers as well as project and process design, capital and expense estimates, contractor selection, equipment specifications and purchases, implementation timeline and coordinating implementation plans for the projects. This position will provide recommended methods and standard operating practices to provide safe and effective control, optimize processes and meet product specifications with a major focus on automation software and processes. This role is an SME (subject matter expert) interface to our manufacturing facilities for their vendor supplied process control systems/software. These are process control systems/software that are common to the feed milling industry, and especially pertaining to the setup, implementation and fine tuning of these systems. The position is a main source of support for plant issues and questions pertaining to these systems, and is responsible for driving understanding, action, and resolution with the vendors. Job Duties: - Prepare process designs, control specifications and capital estimates for new equipment and modifications to existing systems. - Work closely with Directors of Manufacturing, plant managers, and supervisors on the capital approval and implementation steps. - Provide project management working with contractors, equipment vendors, and plant personnel to ensure on budget and on schedule project implementations. - Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions. - Communicate project status, updates, and milestones to stakeholders. - Validate that expected improvements are obtained from capital investments. - Implementation of process improvements and validations of improvements. - SME expertise on vendor supplied process control systems/software. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Feed Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related discipline highly preferred with a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience, or Associates degree in Engineering, Feed Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related discipline with 5 plus years of relevant working experience required. - Proven track record of project management and driving process improvements. - Ability to manage multiple projects and cost initiatives simultaneously. - Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications including Teams, Projects, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as Adobe/Bluebeam, and AutoCAD. - Collaborating with and working effectively with cross functional teams to achieve required results. - Experience with vendor supplied process control systems/software common to the feed milling industry. Requirements - Plant operations background. - In-depth knowledge of food/animal feed processing plant and technology. - Basic Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI coding and implementation experience. - Process control system experience on plant floor process control system. - Basic Allen Bradley VFD, MCC, and SMC Soft Start control and configuration. - Basic CISCO switch configuration and troubleshooting. - Process Control and Electrical documentation creation and management. - Experience with SAP and integration between SAP and process control systems. Job Description Summary As a contributing member of the LOCA, Containment & Stability Analysis Team, you will perform plant thermal-hydraulic safety analysis with two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques. You will support reload and design applications for Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) plants, including currently operating BWR plants as well as new plants (BWRX, Natrium) operating or planned worldwide. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities - Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of ECCS LOCA, Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses. - General expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques. - Take responsibility for fuel project activities including reload analyses, methods implementation, power uprates, new fuel introductions, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel issues. - Perform in cross-disciplinary settings, engaged with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutions. - Prepare, document and present technical data to internal/external customers. - Provide technical mentoring to support team development and knowledge management, including procedure development and adherence. - Develop/deliver training course offerings in support of external commercial requests, as well as for internal audiences for knowledge management, and knowledge capture and transfer. - Lead team process improvements to drive speed and simplification. - Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards.
