Role Description We are currently seeking Professional Engineers, experienced in evaluating distress to existing buildings, structures and building envelopes who would be responsible for overseeing all aspects of investigative projects including: - Coordinating with clients - Performing site visits - Managing resources - Writing reports - Conducting analyses - Reviewing building codes - Setting deadlines to ensure project deliverables are submitted in a professional and timely manner This is a remote position. Responsibilities: - Perform engineering design for roadway drainage and design-build projects including collector streets, arterials, expressways, interstates, and bridge replacements. - Conduct bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system design, pond design, and erosion/sedimentation control. - Prepare construction plans, project displays, cost estimates, reports, and technical memos. - Lead marketing efforts for drainage projects including proposal development, letters of response, presentations, and interviews. - Provide quality control reviews for drainage calculations and plans. - Utilize design software such as MicroStation, Inroads, ORD-SUDA, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, GIS, ICPR, HEC-RAS, HY8, FlowMaster, Pond Pack, StormCAD, SMS, SRH2D, and HEC-RAS 2D. - Coordinate with project managers and other disciplines (roadway, structures, utilities). - Mentor and direct junior engineers. - Work independently with minimal technical supervision. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university. - EIT working towards PE License - 4+ years of DOT drainage design experience. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working on DOT projects. - In depth understanding of Bridge Hydraulics Analysis. - Understanding of FEMA floodplain regulations - Knowledge of stormwater design including open channel conveyance and closed drainage systems. - Experience with permitting requirements of Water Management Districts and FDEP. - Knowledge of stormwater treatment using appropriate BMPs suitable for the linear nature of transportation projects - Possess effective communication (written and verbal), teamwork skills and the flexibility to complete a wide range of tasks including field work. - Exhibit the initiative and ability to tackle new projects and other challenges regularly.
