Accounting Manager

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making with department stakeholders. • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and promoting best practices. • Prepare and coordinate external audits, acting as the primary liaison with auditors. • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Support improvement and building of appropriate systems and efficient processes and controls.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (Sage Intacct and Workday Adaptive a plus) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
  • Ability to move beyond simple report creation to provide deep data analysis that supports “top level financial analysis”.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to support the increased complexity of new product launches and enhance financial oversight as the company scales.

We are an agile globally distributed team of accountants, a group of hard-working crypto enthusiasts, who are shaping the future of crypto accounting. The opportunity - Review and approve payroll and compensation entries before they are recorded in the general ledger (including payroll run, benefits allocation, commission, bonus, stock based compensation and Internally developed software capitalization) - Reconcile G/L accounts and review G/L account reconciliations prepared by others - Take ownership of business unit general ledgers and be a point of contact for statutory audits - Ensure that business unit transactions are recorded in a timely, accuracy, and complete manner - Support business unit financial statements - Interact effectively with multiple business units throughout the company; Payroll, Accounts Payable, Platform Operations, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Human Resources and Compliance - Assist in the implementation of internal controls and accounting processes and procedures including documentation of process narratives, process flowcharts etc. - Assist with the adoption of new U.S. GAAP accounting standards including coordinating with accounting process owners, developing implementation plans, and executing process, system, and financial reporting disclosure changes - Interact with internal and external auditors - Perform intercompany accounting including reconciliation of intercompany balances, identifying and resolving gaps between assigned entities and respective counterparties globally - Work with Treasury and other departments to ensure proper accounting treatments of complex transactions - Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned Skills you should HODL - University degree in Accounting or equivalent with at least 7 years of relevant working experience - Chartered Accountant preferred - Experienced in compensation accounting - Background in accounting for financial services, fintech, banking, or an exchange strongly preferred - Experienced working in multi-entity organization with complex intercompany structure - Collaborative, innovative, flexible, and adept at building relationships across the organization - Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Attention to detail and ability to understand complex financial transactions and technical accounting concepts in a regulatory environment - Ability to work independently and adjust priorities to achieve accurate and timely results - Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities - Google and Microsoft suite proficiency required, including having such skills in excel such as utilizing pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, SUMIF - Working experience with ERP systems such as Netsuite or Oracle - Experience or knowledge in cryptocurrency is preferred Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
