Visual Communications is seeking a strategic and visionary Junior Creative Director to help lead integrated visual campaigns that communicate the innovation and mission of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. Working in close partnership with the Creative Director, this role serves as a senior creative leader-integrating strategy, storytelling, and business priorities to guide multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-impact creative solutions across multiple programs and audiences. The Level 4 Junior Creative Director extends creative leadership across a broader operating surface by translating enterprise creative direction into campaign-level execution, supporting creative reviews, and helping guide concept development across active workstreams. This role serves as a trusted partner to Communications leadership, drives creative excellence across the portfolio, and mentors Art Directors and creative staff to elevate overall team capability while reinforcing consistency, speed, and strategic alignment across the creative organization. Key Responsibilities Creative Leadership & Campaign Strategy - Lead development of integrated visual campaigns across internal and external audiences - Translate complex technical and business objectives into compelling visual narratives - Shape creative strategy in partnership with Communications and senior stakeholders - Present and defend high-level creative concepts to leadership audiences - Work fluidly across disciplines, partnering with creative leads in design, motion, video, VFX, and digital to strengthen integrated campaign outcomes Team Leadership & Creative Direction - Provide senior-level art direction across disciplines (design, motion, VFX, video, environmental, web) - Mentor and develop Art Directors and creative contributors - Lead formal critiques and establish high standards for craft and storytelling - Partner with the Creative Director to evolve visual identity and campaign approaches - Partner closely with the Creative Director to interpret and extend creative vision across campaigns, reviews, and multidisciplinary teams Business & Operational Partnership - Collaborate closely with Project Management to balance quality, speed, and fiscal discipline - Influence prioritization and resource decisions to optimize creative output - Ensure campaign outcomes align with enterprise messaging and strategic goals Innovation & Future-Focused Thinking - Champion emerging visual technologies and generative AI integration - Identify opportunities to modernize storytelling approaches - Drive continuous improvement in creative processes and execution standards Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Visual Communications (Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, Visual Effects, or related field) 8+ years of relevant creative experience Portfolio demonstrating leadership of integrated campaigns across multiple mediums Demonstrated ability to lead creative work across multiple disciplines, including design, motion, video, digital, web development and visual storytelling environments Advanced proficiency in relevant creative tools and emerging technologies Proven ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries Desired Skills: Experience in the defense and aerospace industry Experience leading high-visibility or enterprise-level campaigns Experience mentoring creative professionals Familiarity with digital asset management systems Demonstrated ability to influence and lead experienced creative professionals through credibility, judgment, and strong creative communication Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,400 - $150,650.
