Job Description

HUD Compliance Specialist

Role Description We are currently searching for a HUD Compliance Specialist to work remote. - Review certifications including move ins, annual recertifications and interims through the Compliance Review System. - Complete and Update Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans (AFHMP). - Management and Occupancy Reviews – lead the preparation and response to MORs. - Monitor compliance with AFHMP. - Assist with property specific reporting requirements. - Track and forecast subsidy terminations and other late certifications. - Ensure Compliance with EIV requirements including reports and access issues. - Process HAP Renewals to include coordinating utility analysis and rental adjustments. - Create and submit all tenant and voucher data files to Tenant Rental Assistance Certification System (TRACS). - Identify, track and resolve errors associated with the HAP vouchers and tenant files. - Receipt HAP payments to tenant ledgers. - Administer Gross Rent Change process to include changes resident management software and preparing required notices to residents. - Process the approval, posting, and receipting of repayment agreements. - Assist with the tenant ledger research when discrepancies are related to the HAP voucher. - Coordinate processing of Special Claims when necessary. - Coordinate the submission of Service Coordinator Grant vouchers through LOCCS. - Create miscellaneous reports for management as needed. - Assist in the training of property staff and other compliance staff with HUD training. - Other duties, as assigned. Qualifications - High school or equivalency degree. - Minimum two (2) years’ experience in multifamily housing preferred. - Working knowledge of federal multi-family affordable housing programs, policies and rules is required. - Minimum three (3) years’ experience with HUD or LIHTC preferred. - Ability to understand, apply, communicate and enforce federal, state and local requirements in the implementation of the Section 8 Program. - Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience to meet the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. - Ability to review and analyze required reports. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Yardi, and Onesite. Job Requirements
