Job Description

Environmental Services Director – Facility Manager

Vets2PM

• Conduct comprehensive on-site visual assessments of Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE), evaluating all systems and components associated with facilities and structures, to determine operating efficiency, capacity, and remaining life expectancy. • If hired after internship, travel to remote CONUS and OCONUS sites (25% monthly, up to 50% based on project needs) to perform facility condition assessments and gather detailed data. • Utilize proprietary software tools via computers, iPads, or tablets to input, validate, and maintain facility condition assessment data. • Develop and validate work plan items, translating field-collected data into actionable work packages for CMMS Facilities Management (FM). • Ensure data accuracy through systematic updates, validations, and detailed reporting. • Generate inventory condition reports and technical updates for facilities newly added to the client portfolio.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Certifications in construction technologies, such as NCCER, NICET, HVAC, Carpentry, OSHA 10-Hour or BPI.
  • Minimum of one year of technical experience conducting assessments and analyses of systems and components associated with facilities and structures within real property assets.
  • Experience creating comprehensive reports with actionable, engineering-based recommendations preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to leverage iOS-based tools for reporting and data entry.

The Head of Outreach Programs assesses trends in STEM education and enrichment programs, and works closely with Community and College Engagement to recommend JerseySTEM Outreach offerings. The Head of OTPR oversees and provides direction to STEM program design teams that design or acquire curriculum for delivery to middle school students in after-school enrichment programs. - Manage and coach Outreach Program design teams, ensuring volunteers have needed resources and support. - Collaborate with Community and College Engagement to define program goals, content, and delivery methods in support of the JerseySTEM mission. - Oversee and provide direction for development of unique and interactive educational programs for students. - Oversee the review of curriculum, teaching, and learning strategies for courses ensuring all new curriculum meet defined standards. - Oversee the training of college student coaches who deliver the Outreach Programs, including orientation, training, and workshops. - Recommend curriculum standards and Outreach Program outcome metrics, and oversee tracking of curriculum outcomes. - Engage with and manage relationships with content providers such as: the Boston Museum of Science; Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy; Stevens’s CIESE; NJIT’s Future Ready Schools; Tata’s goIT. Weekly time commitment would be 6 hours/week, 6+ months. Qualifications - Degree in educational, STEM, management, or related field. - Experience managing a function, department, or team. - Experience developing or delivering STEM curricula a plus. - Genuine concern about/interest in solving the gender gap and opportunity gap in STEM education. - Willing to volunteer advice and opinion.
