Role Summary The role of Backend Engineer is foundational to our clients Human-Led AI Orchestration Layer. You will build secure, scalable backend infrastructure and DevOps systems that power authentication, multi-tenant access, Action Points™, Metadata layer and Human-led AI orchestration flows. You are both a backend engineer and an infra-minded builder, capable of delivering fast APIs, secure data boundaries, Azure infrastructure, and Clerk-driven identity across the platform. Everything you build is expected to be revenue-ready. Key Responsibilities Backend Engineering - Build scalable API services. - Integrate Clerk Authentication for identity, RBAC, token validation, and authorization. - Implement core backend for human-led AI workflows. - Support multi-tenant architecture, secure session management, and API hardening. DevOps / Cloud Engineering - Deploy and manage Azure infrastructure (Functions, App Services, AKS, Key Vault). - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps). - Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or Bicep. - Configure monitoring, logging, observability, and uptime automation. - Optimize cloud cost, performance, and reliability.
Job Requirements
- Strong Python/FastAPI backend development experience.
- Hands-on Clerk Authentication integration (JWTs, RBAC, middleware).
- Azure DevOps pipeline experience.
- OAuth2, JWT, CORS/CSRF, rate-limiting, and backend security experience.
- Docker + containerization.
- Preferred
- Experience in multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
- Experience integrating AI/ML workflows into cloud based software.
