Job Title: Manager, Sales Engineering Job Code: 35274 Job Location: Stafford, VA OR Remote Opportunity Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Job Description: The Sales Engineering Manager will work directly with Navy, Marine Corps, & Coast Guard Sales Team. The Sales Engineering Manager leads a team of sales engineers to provide technical expertise, product demonstrations, and tailored solutions for prospective customers. They bridge the gap between sales, engineering, and customers, ensuring technical feasibility to drive sales, while managing, mentoring, and setting goals for their sales engineering staff. Responsible for determining customer communications equipment requirements, recommending solutions, and providing complete accurate bill of material to meet those solutions. Essential Functions: - Hiring, training, mentoring, and managing the daily activities of Sales Engineers. - Working with Account Managers and customers to identify technical needs, configure solutions, and ensure product alignment with customer requirements. - Managing territory schedules to ensure optimal coverage for sales meetings and technical demonstrations - Collaborating with Product Management and R&D teams to provide market insights and feedback on product development. - 50% CONUS and/or OCONUS travel. - Must have, and maintain, an active secret clearance. - Ability to work with team members to support successful technical demonstrations, trials, and exercises. - Providing input during the evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the account managers as an equipment technical advisor. - Understanding customer requirements and use-cases for product applications and recommending equipment solutions that will meet those requirements. - Understanding the features of L3Harris products and conveying how those features benefit individual and unique customers. - Providing pre-sales and/or post-sales technical support for L3Harris products to customers, to include operation, limited maintenance, and technical support. - Active US Secret Security Clearance Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree with 9 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: - Deep technical knowledge of company products, complex problem-solving, strong interpersonal communication, and leadership skills. - L3Harris tactical radio experience using HF, VHF, UHF, MANET, & SATCOM waveforms. - Internet Protocol (IP) networking experience. - Systems engineering/integration experience - Familiarity with CRM systems, Proposal Management, and RFP (Request for Proposal) processes. - Military service, Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard experience a plus. - L3Harris radio operational and/or maintenance experience. - Formal classroom training experience. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $118,000- $218,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $104,500– $194,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
