The Opportunity - Perform data exploration, cleaning, preprocessing, and visualization using Python. - Develop and evaluate baseline machine learning models (e.g., classification/regression) using scikit-learn when applicable. - Query, validate, and summarize datasets using SQL (SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY). - Produce clear documentation and communicate progress, findings, and tradeoffs. - Deliver reproducible project outputs (e.g., notebook/app + documentation) and present results to stakeholders. - Work responsibly with sensitive healthcare data and follow privacy/security guidelines. Required Experience and Competencies - Streamlit or dashboard development experience preferred. - Version control fundamentals using Git/GitHub preferred. - Proficiency in Python for data analysis (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib). - Comfortable writing and debugging Python scripts and working in Jupyter Notebooks (or similar). - Basic understanding of statistics (mean/median, standard deviation, distributions). - Basic understanding of LLMs and prompt engineering, including generation, common limitations (bias/hallucination), and practical prompt-design techniques. - Familiarity with basic SQL querying and aggregations. - Strong communication skills, curiosity, and ability to work independently with mentorship.
