Software Build & Release Manager
SS&C Technologies
• Own the end-to-end build, integration, and release lifecycle across development, QA, UAT, and production environments. • Design and enforce branching, tagging, and versioning strategies in GitHub to support parallel development, hotfixes, and stable releases. • Coordinate and execute scheduled and on-demand releases with a strong focus on quality, traceability, and rollback readiness. • Manage release calendars, deployment sequencing, and change control activities. • Serve as the GitHub subject-matter expert. • Define and enforce source control best practices across teams. • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and related tools.
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in build, release, or DevOps engineering roles.
- Deep, hands-on experience with GitHub, including GitHub Actions, pull request workflows, and repository governance.
- Strong expertise in Git branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based development, or hybrid models).
- Proven experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of software versioning, dependency management, and release automation.
- Experience supporting parallel release tracks (e.g., stable vs. advanced releases).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
