Solutions Engineer

Coastal

• Lead fintech partner technical scoping, including discovery sessions, funds-flow design, sandbox setup, UAT, and go-live coordination. • Help maintain partner-facing APIs, authentication, and webhook flows, ensuring clear documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman collections) for developer usability. • Translate partner business requirements into detailed solution designs and PRDs, working with Coastal Product and Compliance to align with contractual obligations. • Coordinate with processors, networks, and third-party vendors on certifications, file specs, and program modifications. • Define and validate funds flows, settlements, GL postings, and reconciliations, enabling accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency. • Collaborate with engineering on schema design, data mapping, and ETL pipelines to support reporting, reconciliation, and analytics. • Support due diligence and technical risk reviews during the fintech partner evaluation process. • Represent Coastal at partner meetings, articulating technical and compliance capabilities in clear terms. • Provide technical consultation on new BaaS product features, shaping the roadmap based on partner demand and market trends.

Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of API design and integration (REST, webhooks, authentication methods like OAuth2/JWT).
  • Familiarity with payment systems and banking rails such as ACH, wires, RTP, FedNow, and card issuing/processing.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements (KYC/AML, BSA/OFAC, PCI-DSS, data security).
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices (AWS/Azure/GCP, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging).
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and fintech partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of technical experience in fintech, payments, banking technology, or SaaS/API integration.
  • Prior experience at a sponsor bank, card issuer, processor, or BaaS provider strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in partner/enterprise technical integration projects, including discovery, UAT, and go-live.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, data mapping, and financial reconciliation workflows is a plus.

About the role This is the technical half of the Field Co-Selling Pod. You are paired with an Account Executive and together you work every opportunity from first technical conversation through workshop delivery and beyond. The AE owns the commercial relationship. You own the technical truth. While there are click through demos, in fact you will contribute to creating more. The role also requires you to build sample applications from scratch using AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, tailor them to specific customer environments, and use them to show --- not tell --- how the 7SG Hybrid AI Platform solves real problems. You will learn by doing, alongside Neeloy and the engineering team, with real customer scenarios as your classroom.Describe the role and team the candidate will be joining What you'll do Two Modes. One SE. Your work falls into two modes that run in parallel. Both are required from Day 1. Mode 1: Pre-Sales Technical Engagement You are the technical face of 7SG in every customer interaction that goes beyond qualification. When the AE brings an opportunity forward, you step in to understand the customer's AI deployment landscape, map their enterprise technology stack, and determine how to map to the 7SG Reference Architecture applies. You use this intelligence to support the AE with qualification accuracy and account timing. This means understanding AI deployment and scaling approaches across a variety of environments: Private NVIDIA DGX and HGX clusters, AWS (Bedrock, SageMaker), Azure (Foundry, CoPilot Studio), GCP (Vertex AI), Salesforce Agentforce, Agent Bricks, and emerging agentic platforms.
