Senior Manager, Store Design

Gap Inc.

• Act as a design ambassador managing and structuring the creative process to foster cross functional collaboration and communication with brand partners • Manage and assist internal business partners and external consultants on project specific basis ensuring adherence to established project budget and timeline • Provide solutions that are thoughtful in design intent • Pro-actively keep up with industry trends in retail experience and design • Manage complex coordination to gain alignment and consensus • Develop comprehensive presentations and documentation packages with excellent graphic verbal, written, and presentation skills

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive design experience in architecture, interiors, experiential and brand creative that elevate brand excellence.
  • (3+ years of retail design experience preferred)
  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or related field
  • Strength in managing a design team in the delivery of complex projects varying in scale, budget, and size.
  • Excellent understanding of design principles with the ability to translate ideas, forms, and functions into cohesive design concepts with minimal supervision
  • Proven design management, architecture, interiors or related industry experience working with cross-functional teams globally, in corporate or design environments
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects/priorities concurrently in a fast-paced, high growth, and results driven environment
  • Self-starter and capable individual contributor with ability to assess relatively complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions
  • Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in design software to support the design process (SketchUp, Rhino, VRay, Escape, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Miro).

Position Overview As a Designer at Zero, your primary focus is to develop thoughtful, original ideas that are on strategy. You conceptualize the emotional “why” behind brands and how to express it across all creative mediums. From brand worlds to websites, social platforms and marketing channels, you’re responsible for creating design work that speaks the brand’s language and offers a fresh perspective within the brand’s industry. Whether developing the visual brand tone or working within a set of established guidelines, you are able to plug into the brand mindset and articulate it. You have the skills and understanding to properly execute on typography, color theory, layout and art direction, as well as the ability to develop effective visual communication to fit a variety of brands.
