The Network Architecture team is a highly skilled group of individuals that work on various technologies in building, configuring and maintaining network infrastructure in support of Akamai's global platform which provides the technical underpinning of Akamai's products and services. Partner with the best You'll collaborate with the team on infrastructure operations, new projects and installations. You'll work on the deployment, configuration, automation, and maintenance of high-end routers and switches. You'll be instrumental in developing organizational standards to ensure the growth and stability of our global platform. As a Senior Network Architect, you will be responsible for: - Architecting, building and supporting solutions that foster efficient and streamlined processes - Acting as an escalation point for operational, network, and managerial teams to ensure network and customer issues are resolved - Working with vendors and internal organizations to build out large points of presence across the globe - Collaborating with the cross-functional teams on standards and processes for deployments and updating documentation accordingly - Building/testing/designing automation tools (including Bash scripts, Python programs, Slack bots) and working closely with network developers - Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of our network and application security products and quickly connecting attack vectors with existing/new detections Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: - Have 12 years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent experience - Have an experience in managing and troubleshooting Juniper & Cisco Routers and Switches - Have working knowledge of virtualization, Linux/Unix systems and Python programming language - Be familiar with building and deploying infrastructure that handles network traffic, distributed systems - Demonstrate technical and commercial knowledge of Internet network topology and architecture, IP routing, and CDN platforms - Be a highly organized self-starter who is comfortable working both with cross-functional teams Work in a way that works for you FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $139,300 - $250,700/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Job Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY: The Network Specialist is responsible for day-to-day network operations, troubleshooting, and ensuring network stability and security. They monitor and maintain the network infrastructure, resolve connectivity issues, and implement security measures. They also provide user support and training and collaborate on network upgrades and expansions. This position is eligible for remote work.
