Technical Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting

• Lead public company readiness initiatives, including quarterization, SEC reporting dry runs, and preparation for ongoing 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K filings, including financial statements and related disclosures. Includes supporting SOX scoping and readiness. • Research and document complex accounting issues in technical memoranda, ensuring compliance with US GAAP. Own documentation and create processes across several areas, including debt, equity, revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, goodwill impairment, segment reporting, earnings per share, consolidation, foreign currency, and carve-out accounting. • Lead the financial statement audit process, including uplifting to PCAOB standards. Managing requests and communications with external auditors. • Continuously improve reporting architecture, data flows, and automation leveraging AI-enabled workflows. • Serve as the primary owner of Workiva from a reporting and execution perspective (implementation will be completed prior to start). • Partner cross-functionally with Finance leadership and other departments to provide technical accounting guidance for new products, partnerships, and business initiatives. • Support the M&A team in financial due diligence and integration. • Coordinate with our tax provider on tax matters.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a blend of at least 2 years in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm strongly preferred) and industry, preferably in a high-growth environment in tech, fintech, financial services, or related verticals.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience drafting full financial statements and footnotes for SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K); candidates coming directly from audit without direct SEC reporting experience will not be a fit.
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, with demonstrated experience in drafting accounting memos and preparing financial statements.
  • Experience in areas such as debt, equity, revenue recognition, leases, income taxes, intercompany transactions, consolidation, FX matters, and carve-out accounting.
  • Familiarity with public company readiness, including SOX and internal controls, is preferred.
  • Experience determining the accounting treatment for complex, novel products.
  • Experience with Workiva financial reporting is strongly preferred. Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • CPA license or Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance strongly preferred.
  • Experience leveraging AI and technology to streamline key business processes is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting issues into clear, actionable guidance. Detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
