Overview As a Senior Systems Engineer you will be responsible for resolving escalated service issues, coaching other engineers to resolutions, engineering and implementing complex projects, and for maintaining and overseeing the technology of their assigned areas. This includes VMWare, Windows, and Linux environments. A successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving requirements, devise innovative solutions in dynamic environments, work in high-pressure environments, collaborate effectively with diverse teams, and maintain focus on delivering secure and optimized application traffic solutions. We are looking for an individual with a Level III Engineer mindset—someone who takes ownership, operates at a strategic level, and delivers robust, scalable solutions in complex technical ecosystems. Responsibilities - Works with project team to plan and engineer the organization's systems infrastructure utilizing extensive experience. Ensure that the various components of the enterprise infrastructure architecture are consistent and coherent, designed at an appropriate level of detail, and that changes are controlled so as to maintain consistency. Serve as a subject matter expert for infrastructure architectural frameworks, methods and tools. - Perform a variety of complicated tasks such as implementation or upgrade of designed hardware and software solutions. Works both independently and coordinates the activities of System Administrators, DBA's and development teams. - Troubleshoot performance and technical issues with systems infrastructure. Assist development team with troubleshooting application and systems performance issues. Advise on performance and monitoring tools. - Perform infrastructure operations tasks such as log reviews, monitoring systems, alert response and on-call rotation. - 3+ Years of experience with Certificate management. - 3+ Years of experience with Load balancer administration. - Strong TCP/IP Stack knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities. - Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan. - Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned. - Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, or 4+ years related work experience required. - A blended 8+ years architecture, engineering, implementing and administering highly available web server, application server, networking and storage infrastructures required. - A deep working knowledge VMware, Windows, .Net, Java, SAN and databases required. - Experienced in networking, DNS, firewalls and load balancing technologies required. - Manage and modernize core infrastructure services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PKI. - Experience in Linux, Hadoop and Big Data technologies a plus. - Minimum of 3 years mentoring and directing the work of other systems administrators and/or engineers. - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required. Strong time management skills, including the ability to work independently and balance daily operations and projects. - Ability to independently prioritize and re-prioritize tasks required. Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, required. Ability to work as a team lead, and assist in any IT area is required. - Ability to occasionally work early, late or on weekends as work demands is required. - Solid foundation with security principles including HIPAA and SOX compliance preferred. Base compensation ranges from $115,000 to $150,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
