Role Description As a senior research analyst at Harris, you will have the opportunity to create high-impact, externally facing thought leadership that solves client challenges and shapes industry conversations. Primary day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around: - Helping concept and create story-driven research programs - Managing the dynamic project fulfillment process - Owning the analysis and narrative development of findings Key components of this position include: - Creative concepting and ongoing trend monitoring - Cultural exploration and ensuring job quality - Overseeing the execution of the research process across our operations team Many projects are designed for external audiences, including media, PR, and executive thought leadership platforms—requiring strong storytelling instincts, strategic framing, and a focus on producing compelling, headline-ready insights. Given the entrepreneurial nature of the company, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in areas beyond "day-to-day" consulting projects such as: - Business development and strategy - Thought leadership - Media- and PR-oriented research - Product/service innovation Working with the thought leadership team, you will also have the unique opportunity to propose creative solutions to client problems and take ownership of new research ideas from concept through execution and storytelling. Specific Responsibilities: - Manage end-to-end project schedules, timelines, and key milestones - Contribute to research concepting, strategic framing, and story angles - Write surveys and research instruments from outlines with moderate oversight, ensuring clarity, flow, and strong insight potential - Manage the project and project quality through fielding - Prepare field progress updates and performance summaries for internal teams and clients - Prepare and populate report templates, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and high-quality outputs - Write detailed findings and translate data into clear insights, implications, and strategic narratives - Participate in client discussions, readouts, and presentations - Proactively support client research needs and goals, bringing fresh ideas, emerging trends, and innovative approaches to each engagement - Work across multiple client accounts simultaneously and manage time accordingly Qualifications - A bachelor’s degree: concentrations or interest in journalism, sociology, business or marketing are also a plus - 2+ years of experience in market research, marketing, management consulting, media planning, media buying, strategic planning, investment banking, data journalism or other related functions - Excellent quantitative and analytical skills - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to independently author reports, storylines, and presentations - A natural curiosity about consumer behavior, cultural shifts, and emerging trends - Interest in monitoring news, social trends, and industry developments to inform research and spark new thought leadership ideas - An appetite to work across a variety of categories, topics and project types - Ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives to business unit managers and third parties - Ability to work as part of a team and support and guide junior analysts when needed - Strong attention to detail paired with big-picture strategic thinking - Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where ownership and initiative are valued - Experience translating data into media-friendly insights, headlines, or story angles is a plus - Familiarity with thought leadership research or PR-driven studies also a plus Requirements - In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation for this role is $70,000 - $75,000. - Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree: concentrations or interest in journalism, sociology, business or marketing are also a plus
