Role Description Lumen is embarking on a multi-year journey to modernize and move forward applications to the cloud, with special emphasis on Microsoft Azure. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be a key member of the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), helping establish cloud best practices, secure foundational architectures, and automated delivery models. You will work closely with application teams, infrastructure engineers, and solution architects to design, build, and operate scalable cloud platforms while supporting teams through modernization and migration initiatives. This role is designated as a fully remote position within the United States. Main Responsibilities - Manage and implement assigned cloud and infrastructure projects according to defined scope, timelines, and quality standards. - Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud foundations and landing zones, primarily in Microsoft Azure, with transferable patterns across other cloud providers. - Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to application teams and internal stakeholders throughout cloud adoption and modernization efforts. - Perform assessments of existing infrastructure and applications to determine cloud readiness and modernization strategies. - Collaborate with engineers and solution architects to recommend appropriate technologies including WAN/LAN networking, security controls, identity, storage, and compute. - Implement solutions involving advanced networking, virtualization, storage, Windows Server, and cloud-native services. - Automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployment using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines. - Identify issues in new or existing cloud environments and develop remediation, optimization, and implementation plans. - Participate in Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, design reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement. - Continuously develop technical skills through hands-on work, training, and participation in company-sponsored learning activities. Job Requirements
