• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and roadmaps using Smartsheet, Jira, and/or other project management tools. • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Data, Product, Client Delivery, Operations, etc.) to define scope, deliverables, and milestones. • Manage cross-team dependencies across Product, Engineering, DevOps, and business stakeholders to support timely delivery. • Serve as the central point of coordination for internal initiatives, facilitating meetings, preparing agendas, documenting decisions, and publishing action items. • Track project progress, resource allocation, utilization, and burn rate for internal efforts. • Identify risks, issues, and dependencies early; develop mitigation plans and collaborate with SMEs to resolve blockers. • Document technical decisions, action items, risks, and delivery assumptions in a clear and actionable format for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Follow established change-control procedures to manage adjustments in scope, timing, or resources. • Leverage internal tools (Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence, etc.) to track progress, drive transparency, and standardize processes. • Provide guidance, mentoring, and escalation support for team members working on project workstreams. • Contribute to internal process evaluations and organizational improvement initiatives. • Support development of internal proposals, business cases, and readiness for new tools, system upgrades, or technology transitions. • Participate in internal planning sessions and cross-functional strategic initiatives as needed.
Job Requirements
- At least five years of project management experience, ideally managing technical or cross-functional internal initiatives.
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Strong self-starter with excellent initiative and follow-through.
- Experience supporting Agile, sprint-based, Kanban, or hybrid technical delivery models.
- Experience working with engineering, data, IT, AI, and/or product teams on technical projects.
- Proficiency with tools like Smartsheet, Jira, and MS Office Suite including Excel and Outlook (or similar tools).
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines and managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and writing skills.
- Ability to collaborate with individuals across technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand technical concepts and translate them for diverse audiences.

Description On-Call Project Archaeologist (Remote) Southeast Region (GA, SC, TN or vicinity) About On-Call Employment with ICF Given the seasonal or project-specific nature of our environmental work, ICF often hires environmental professionals as “On-Call” employees. On-Call employees are scheduled for work hours as they become available (we usually schedule work hours a few weeks ahead of time), and each on-call employee is free to accept or refuse the hours assigned to them in a given week. On-Call employees may work concurrent projects outside of their ICF assignment (as long as their outside work does not create a conflict of interest with the work they do for ICF). ICF is currently seeking an On-Call Project Archaeologist to support the growth of our cultural resources practice in the Eastern U.S., especially on energy, transportation, and federal sector projects in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Job Description As a Project Archaeologist at ICF, you will lead and/or contribute to archaeology and cultural resources studies as either stand-alone projects or as part of larger multi-disciplinary projects.
